I missed the pledge funding, and would love to buy some physical manifestation of it that includes a CD with the live recordings of it because I collect CDs still (I'm sure plenty here would prefer vinyl).

Considering getting the 2 disc DVD here, though:

I would say just go with the 2 DVD set. It's worth it, and the concert and extras on Disc 2 are great. I pledged enough to get the 2-DVD set with the Walsby tee. Happy with the donation/purchase. That sucks for those who chipped in for the uber-deluxe set, hoping to have it by now.

Maybe someone can help me out, I'm a little confused. Is the deluxe edition of the documentary coming with a live CD? I thought you just got some digital downloads or something.

bUTTHOLEmAN

The deluxe, 3 disc edition is supposed to come with an additional dvd (making a total of 3 dvds/blurays) that includes additional footage.  No cds.

So I thought I'd drop in for a little update for everyone that is waiting for the wood box.

Some of you may know, some may not, that I hit my head back on Aug 30th.  I received a severe concussion.  Severe enough that I have not been back to work since. Severe enough that it actually changed the vision in my right eye and I now have to wear glasses for reading. Before that, I had perfect vision.  I've been attending three hours of therapy per week, on top of visits to neurologists, concussion specialists, and optometrists that specialize in concussion related vision changes. I still have a little double vision. Though it is improving, I still have difficulty remembering words, and how to get to places that I've been going to for the last ten years. I've been in a very slowly clearing fog for the last 4 1/2 months. Unfortunately, that has meant a delay in getting the boxes out as I am the one responsible for getting the last bits of interviews and live footage edited down for the 3rd disc of content that goes with the box. This is on my shoulders, not Bobs.  If you need to vent about it, vent to me about it. I understand being eager to get  something you've paid for. We're eager to get them done and shipped.  I just ask that you stay patient while I work through this concussion. I've been slowly getting back to editing on small pieces here and there, and I'm doing a little more each day.

PS, I have not read through the last few months of comments that I have missed out on. If I didn't answer anyones specific question, I apologize.  I'll take a closer look later.

Those of us waiting on the box version all have access to the streaming version of the movie. I think we can all handle waiting for the package and bonus material considering the situation. I just hope you keep getting better and feeling better.

Echoing Sadcorps sentiments.

Take care and get better.  Sounds like you're going thru hell.
Is Ian back yet??

I know this sounds strange, but my sister in law got a severe concussion about a year ago and she said that having an amethyst crystal on her bedside table while she slept sped up the healing process dramatically.

I'm not usually into the whole crystal thing, but if it helps who am I to say otherwise.

Good luck with the recovery Ryan!  Your health is way more important than our precious Melvins boxset!! (wait did I really just say that  :P)

Alex-

Good luck with the recovery Idle! I know how it is to have hours of therapy weekly. It's terrible :( get well soon!

How the fuck would she have the slightest clue about the speed of her healing process? Maybe it was the bedside table itself that had the magical powers...
Man, I'm in a good mood.

Get well soon, Idlehanz.

I guess I had that coming. I beg your pardon.

I think I've lost the ability to overlook certain types of nonsense. Otherwise intelligent people in my life have been coming out with too many examples of scientific illiteracy and it's all a bit much. I may implode.

I have the same view on much of the alternative methods, as you Mints, but I don`t ridicule it the way you do. That`s just mean and a signal that you lack social skills. AND one more thing, nothing is as strong as the placebo effect. If Deatheats sister believed strongly that it could heal her, this crystal, then one can never rule out the effect of this belief. I have first hand knowledge in a smaller scale, when I in a part of my life should get rid of some medicaton, sleep medication was one of them. It was a gradual downstepping, where you cut the table in two, then in three, forur and more parts, before you went over to a fluor tablet. It worked like hell, my brain really "believed" although there were no effect left, even in one sleeping tablet. Thing is that you can trick your brain and control your brain more than you are aware of. So why slam down on the method Deatheats refers to, if that has a placebo effect? Just like with religion and personal beliefs, one shall never slam down on what others believe.
