Melvins Discussion / Re: New interview with Dale

Shane definitely (based only on the evidence of their camaraderie on stage, Buzz and Shane).

Danny Herrera was also drumming in Venomous Concept so my guess would be a dual drummer scenario again.

Nizamark! Good to see you, brother. I'd really dig if there will be a dual drummer tour with Dale and Coady and they get yo play at least one song from this album. I don't think it's a pipe dream.

I also just ordered that new Bifocal Haze Bulls and Bees shirt. Super cool. I love that record and it's a cool design. I'd maybe prefer the new cover image, but I had to have it anyway.

I don't have that kind of money but I got a highlighter yellow tee anyway. I never had any bullhead merch and that color's really cool. I might not be cool enough to wear it. We will see.

Flexi disc is cool. Glad it's not an exclusive track since I already got the King Dunn CD with "Sick as a Goat"

I expect the packaging for this will be amazing and even though I don't really need it I will have a hard time not buying one.

I'm normally super anti-rehashing riffs and covering your own songs. Melvins generally get a pass.
On Tarantula Heart especially I don't think it was lazy. The album is a new work, moreso than Electroretard or Five Legged Dog.

The unconventional approach and some of the disjointedness is part of its charm. I like the whole narrative, both what Buzz has said in interviews and what we obsessives can speculate. We know that Dale suffered an injury, and yet they managed to make a new album with what was available.

It may take a few more listens before I stop being distracted by the "how" or "why" in some places and just feel the "where" of this record.

I'm convinced that "Pain = Funny" was at least partly assembled from Roy and Dale playing actual Melvins tunes. Like there's obviously Boris happening there. But I also think I hear something from Stag and something from Lysol.

Yes they will be expensive.

God damn what a great baby blue bullhead shirt, though.

And SNIVLEM? Someone over there is a fan. That is fine merch.

But yeah Supreme's whole thing is this ironic "aren't these expensive objects ridiculous" then "we made super expensive ltd edition stuff for you schmucks to buy". Supreme fans basically throw away money to support their own disdain for throwing money away.

Though this is the M.O. for plenty of the Melvins limited editions we've all shelled out for anyway.

What songs do you think they might play from the record? Personally i'd like to see Working The Ditch and Smiler. But i have a feeling they would go with She's Got Weird Arms. I can just easily imagine them performing that one. It seems like the one they would choose for some reason.
You're probably right. But I could also see them doing two sections of "Pain = Funny" and calling it a day.

Damn, bout time I snagged this on record. (Wait do I already have one?)

Yeah I'd at least like them to do a tour of only Ipecac recordings. That would allow a GPT track or Five Legged Dog acoustic set. But there's so much underrepresented stuff in their sets.

Yeah I debate that internally, too. I definitely consider Buzz solo records to be Melvins side projects. I lean towards categorizing the DC solo or any future DC Band records as Melvins side projects. I don't consider Altamont's to be Melvins records, though.

I took note of that in the interviews, too. It's interesting. But I also think it would be dope for the band to do a record of nineteen two-minute songs.
