Jesus, I have an NM white original Bullhead shirt(just like on the merch table in the Salad Of 1000 Delights DVD), bought from Boner Records around 20 yrs ago, with a money order sent to Tom Flynn in a stamped envelope.
So if I were to put it on Ebay, I should take no less than $200 for it?

Clutch loves Cactus!

Working The Ditch is one of the greatest standard-length Melvins songs in years. So fucking great. If we were in the era where there was a need to release a single off this album, this would be "the number one hit with a bullet"!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/buzz-osborne-thinks-jimi-hendrix-is-one-of-the-best-guitarists-of-all-time-but-says-his-technique-was-wrong/ar-AA1o6TxB?ocid=entnewsntp&pc=U531&cvid=8619cb42fd9a448faa691d1d02de6b15&ei=28

I'm not a guitarist, but I know guitarists who've studied and tried to copy Hendrix's style. What Buzz is saying is totally right, and by saying that he's not dissing Hendrix in any way. Hendrix was an alien basically. In fact he couldn't even read music.

If some 12 yr old kid today is taking guitar lessons today and wants to play the blues, the average teacher is gonna show him Robert Johnson, Hubert Sumlin, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan to learn the basics.

Got the cheapy CD yesterday. Love it, great creepy mellow vibe. Could be a soundtrack to a David Lynch film. Had to go back and listen to Six Pack & Invention of Hysteria too.
So will there be a new full album under King Dunn(Ipecac or AmRep), or are they just releasing EPs here and there?

Sir George Kasai?

Agreed 😎👍🏼

$25 for a drum key, seriously? Go to your local drum shop and you can get a chrome one for less than $5. It looks cool, but come on. [-X  I'd guess with future touring being limited, there's a mortgage and kids college tuitions to pay for.

Quote from: the bloat on March 05, 2024, 11:10:40 PMTurns out Buzz's favorite band of all time is the Who. Guess I didn't know that...

Great read tho! Thought Iommi might make an appearance in this one

Well, he didn't mention Jimmy Page or Greg Ginn either, but that's a no-brainer.
Totally agree on Trower and Jeff Beck.  I wouldn't have guessed Buzz to be a huge fan of Blow By Blow & Wired era Beck. I'd have thought the more rock/blues stuff before that.
I got to see Trower once back in 2000 in a small club. It was exactly as how Buzz described.  Was lucky enough to finally see Beck too, on his last tour summer '18. Incredible. The guy never lost a step in his playing.

Quote from: PepsiMike on February 21, 2024, 09:01:25 AMI always wondered who the five faces were supposed to be.  :?:

Bassist morgue(From L to R): Lukin, Lorax, Joe, Mark D., Rutmanis

I remember this was a topic when the shirt came out, and it seemed to make the most sense. The cool thing then was there was no social media, and the Melvins just put out the shirt for a tour and didn't have to explain anything. The little artist writeups on Bifocal/Shoxop are cool whenever a new shirt comes out, but I liked the mystery back in the day.

Will definitely pre-order the CD(not from Ipecac store) along with the new HoF which comes out on the same day. Will thrown in whatever else to get the free shipping. May order the vinyl too, separately.

Wearing the "bloody" NWB/Dog Island 2008 shirt today. Haven't busted that one out in awhile. Still in great shape for 15 yrs old, with the exception of a small burn hole in the front on one of the faces, from either a cigarette or a bonfire ember. :)

Preordered.  Hoping for detailed liner notes about who is playing on each track.

That's never the case with Melvins albums that have guests(see Pigs Of The Roman Empire, Love/Death). The booklet will be full on Mackie Art with names of who's involved and that's it.

King Buzzo rips off AI.  That's so punk rock!

Not really. It's called xenochrony. AI is the modern lazy version of it.  Zappa basically started this, and perfected it on albums like One Size Fits All and Sheik Yerbouti. I think it's awesome that Buzz is constructing a Melvins album using this approach.

Where's the Buffalo remake date? I have my 2020 tik stub still. Per usual, all of central to western NY denied. One show in the state of NY, and it's in that dump of NYC/Brooklyn. Cleveland's the closest, but I can't be bothered with driving 6 hrs round trip.

You'd think with no Toronto show, Buffalo would again be a no-brainer. Must be with Pinkus on board, it's just easier not to deal with Canada and having the van searched/seized.

This EP desperately needs the AmRep cheapy CD treatment, at $10 a pop. They'd sell a shit-ton. 8) I'd be happy with that.
