It continues to amaze me how many amazing people the makers of this film-to-be have gotten to contribute.
I can't tell wether this is a testament to the Melvins' greatness, or the filmmakers' use of black magic to hex them into participating
Either way, I'm very excited for the movie. Keep it up guys :buzz:
My favorite thing about Melvins is the goofy personality | These guys suck and Buzz is a pretentious hipster dork | This sounds nothing like Metallica. | Dales Dad was a drum, its in his blood. | King Buzzo's hair probably holds a lotta secrets | what the fuck is a stee? | Melvins as a way of life

I'm copy/pasting what I wrote on Facebook here, but you get the idea.  If anyone knows anyone that has any footage of the band, please talk to them and share this.  We're getting down to crunch time and we need footage, specifically from 1983-1988.  Please help us get the word out.  Every share helps.  Any leads, questions, or ANYTHING....email us at info@melvinsmovie.com

Hello everyone.
Do you have footage of the Melvins? Would you like to see it used in the upcoming movie? We are looking for any footage of the band, in any kind of format. Anything prior to 2006 would be best, ESPECIALLY ANYTHING FROM 1983-1988. It's been very difficult to come across any footage that has Mike Dillard, Matt Lukin, or Lori Black in it. We understand a lot of you aren't to keen on giving up your video that you shot and are holding on to, but now is the time to share a snippet or two of that never before seen show with the world. If we use anything you send us, you will get credit in the film. We will NOT trade away the footage, or use it in any other manner without your consent. Please look at this as a way of making the film better for everyone. If you have footage that you'd like to let us use, or have any questions, please send an email to info@melvinsmovie.com.
Fans, backers, and friends. Please share this with everyone you know. You're a fan and we know that you have friends that love this band. Help us get the word out.
Thank you!

I'd love to see some old school Dillard clips!
Good luck on the hunt.

You might want to PM Peebot or Sadcorps as they seem to have been fans since the early/mid 80's.
Is Ian back yet??

Sludgebaby

I heard a rumour that the guy behind "melvins is gay" might have a gay porno buzz and dale shot in the early years for extra money when the band wasn't doing so great. Probably just a rumour though :( too bad... er, I mean, nasty rumours! #-o

Thanks for the idea but Mr. Pee and Mr. Sad and I have been in touch for a little while now. Sadly, no leads so far.

Same group today, tales of "this guy in Green River hated Buzz for banging his mom ( the guy in Green River's mom). OMG! I'll beso disappointed if that doesn't make the movie!  :bs:

I wish that I had footage from back in the day. Crushr24 was my main connection through a friend of mine Phil Petrocelli - but I am not sure if he has any Dillard or Lukin footage?

crushr24

I don't.  I have a couple of Lorax shows (Germany and some coffeehouse show) but those are rather common and on YouTube I believe.  Idlehanz has all my footage dating back to 1995-2002.  Not sure if he's going to use any of my stuff.

I couldn't tell ya what I got from you though.  Did you film it, or is it just stuff you traded for?

crushr24

I sent you stuff I filmed back in November last year.  All from when I used to live in Austin, TX.

Yep, I remember now!    Sorry, there's just so much to keep track of in my head.  Now to find the dvd's........

Have you thought to check with the EMP Museum in Seattle?

They had a ton of footage of various bands during their grunge exhibit, including a lot of interviews with Buzz.
I'm not sure if they had any live Melvins footage from the 80's or not though.

DC

Don't worry guys, I got you covered.

I found the earliest footage of Lukin, Buzz, and Dillard after a long and arduous internet journey:

Dumpster D

Hopefully *something* cool will show up.

has anyone Ever attempted to Write (For lack of better Description) uh...like rok-star*Cobain* type Biographies about Buzz or Dale ever..  :-k

I think Brian Walsby has been a really great Biographer, His artwork and story telling style Really brings it out best in my Opinion.

I think about that one pic of him listening to Their one Demo for the first time and being all like

Can't it be both?
