Title: Art edition Bride... from AMREP
Post by: ZILLA on December 18, 2014, 02:56:08 PM
Any opinions, people excited? Granted haven't seen the whole package I don't feel the immediate need to buy this, like with most other melvins stuff or Amrep in general.

I've seen some pictures on Instagram and yeah it looks really cool but it's nothing I would get excited over. I think the first round vinyl from Amrep was just fine and luckily I got a copy as a gift or I wouldn't have been able to afford it. I suppose if you like throwing your money at something that's even more limited and too nice to put on a turntable then you would want this.

I'm excited. I want it!
I want to get the entire series. Really.

I won't be playing all of them on my turntable, at least at the same time, but I can join hands with the other versions and dance in a circle whilst watching one of them spin

But seriously, I definitely want it. Alas, I will never hold hands with one. I could trade / semi-trade with a boardie for one, but I won't bother going into a bidding war for a repress of something I have multiple copies of already.

PM me if anyone gets an extra one and see if we could get cash and some interesting things in return.

For me I get all caught up in the chase, that's half the fun.

The chase is better than the catch, ultimately.

The shenanigans have moved up to Minneapolis (after L.A. & TX) with HAZE XXL hand printing relief cuts onto the blank side of the record.

I'm confused by this message...does this simply mean that Haze is doing his thing for the release now? Think there'll be a show in MN anytime soon?

At this rate the bride is going to be screaming extortion, ha! Im not sure why the band are re-visiting Bride for these releases. Perhaps there is demand i guess?? Or simply just a case of making a more elaborate, nicely packaged special edition.
Did I get my Brides mixed up?
This is still Bride Of Crankpipistan? Not Bride Screamed At Jerry Springer?  :P

QuoteRight now, just trying to get enough done for LA event. Part of this edition will go online for sure.

:D Seems like they are doing what they did with the Seawhores Hunt Is On Art Edition. The printing on the records looks really cool. I wish they would have picked a different album like HAT but it's really more about the art with these anyways.

I agree, these art art for arts sake. makes sense given Buzz's opinions about vinyl as a format. The Seawhores one looks really cool! I may end up trying to get one of these once I see the finished product. Timing admittedly is strange this album came out years ago.

This is correct...
ANNNNYHOOO.....I think the picture that was posted is a good example of how these Brides records are being made. Very hands on from not just Mackie and Haze but Buzz too.

How many of these are being made? I thought I saw somewhere that it was only gonna be limited to 90. Those are gonna go fast as hell. I'm not really in it for the "art" records, I prefer posters but the printing on the actual record looks really cool. Cool enough to frame.

I think Haze said now an edition of 100 now and an edition of 50 later.

Oh wow! I'm guessing the 100 for the show and then the 50 for online. I wonder if the 50 that come later will be different...

DUDE! Potato stamps are fun.

These records are beauty. I really hope Nude with Boots gets some kind of pretty reissue since the pressings were not-so-great. Something our pocket books can look forward to in 2015, perhaps?
