Hey everyone! It has been a while, I hope you are all well in the midst of all the craziness happening right now in the world.

I recently had the opportunity to team up with Sean Tillmann (aka Calvin Krime/Har Mar) and friends to work on a project called coloring books for a cause. I donated 2 pages to one dedicated to Grumpy's and another historic local bar called Palmers, and more recently a MELVINS page for First Ave pt 2. So far, they have raised over $25,000 to help local artists, musicians, and service workers who are out of a job right now. Anyway, pick one up if you can. They're kid friendly, full of games/puzzles, and of course, for a good cause.

I had a blast working on this MELVINS page. I did my best to fit all of the bassists into one goat. I hope you like it too. Peace.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins Trading Cards!
May 28, 2018, 08:19:19 PM
I'm not sure if anyone else has posted pictures of these. Sorry for the low quality and bad lighting! I'll take better ones for the wiki  :buzz:

They were inside of the Pinkus Abortion Technician letterpress boxset, along with a lot of other goodies!

So much fun!  :P

Kitty approved!

Melvins Discussion / Melvins baby monstrosity # count
November 24, 2014, 01:02:02 PM
I'm trying to figure out how many of these babies were made. According to the Melvins Museum site, there were four different kinds, 100 of each :
http://www.angelfire.com/mn/TryChicken/collect.html ....
(thanks to super conda for the link!)

But now I'm confused because one of my tags says 76/144. I have another tag around here that is "x/144."

What can you guys tell me?

If you have a baby in the bag with the tag, can you tell me the 'style' and number on the packaging, please? I'd appreciate it if we could start a tally of some kind.

Thanks

Well, Grumpy's was a lot of fun but this show was definitely the highlight for me. Melvins absolutely killed it.

All that aside, I'm having a bad morning. I had an up close and kick-ass video of Graveyard and a ton of photos on my phone, but when I plugged it into my computer it synced with iTunes and automatically restored it to the settings from the last time it was updated ...which was October. Ugh.

You all know the setlist. They kicked it, and they kicked it good and loud. Got to say hi to Buzz after the show and he was just the friendliest person ever. There were all of these wires and cords around and I thought for sure I was going to trip over one and fall on my face. Thankfully, did not.

Got stuck in traffic on the way back to mpls and made it to the record release party right on time for the gig. Sorry I don't have photos to show :( I'm super bumming.

Ta-daaaaaaaa!!!

I don't think this has been posted anywhere. Trevor sat this one out -- Buzz and Dale exclusive!
I'm still listening, but so far it's a good one. Enjoy!

As part of their '51 Shows in 51 States in 51 Days' tour, the Melvins Lite stopped in Allentown for their Pennsylvania show.

Sludge-metal legends Buzz Osbourne and Dale Crover were kind enough to answer our questions.

Topics covered include: this outlandish tour idea, their new album 'Freak Puke,' their upcoming 30th anniversary and why Ozzy Osbourne sucks so much.

Melvins Discussion / Melvins on The JukeBox

My favourite watering-hole has this Jukebox, right?

I've been scheming to get Melvins on there. I bought a copy of Stoner Witch, because I figured a full length album and art work would be the way to go. You really can't go wrong with The Witch that is Stoner.

Someone else recently suggested a mix, instead. I mean, if I can get Melvins in, I'm going to want some variety. Of course I'm being selfish here, because I can't see too many others paying money to have their ears/balls crushed. Sorry bastards.

So, if YOU were in a bar, and saw a jukebox by the bloody mary bar, what Melvins album/songs would you want to hear? Would you prefer it to be an assortment, or a full album?

Potentially, us locals could arrange another BBS meeting, and hijack the whole thing.
Fill it with bananas, rig it so that every option is an unexpected, extended version of COLOSSUS OF DESTINY.

Sorry if anyone else has posted about this show. I'm afraid I'm a couple years late on "the review". Anyway, this was easily, the greatest, funnest show I've ever been to. I often dream about reliving that night....so wonderfully heavy, and surreal.

TOUR: DOWN WITH THE MELVINS (Has a nice ring, eh? Try chanting it, it's kinda fun. We all did, actually).
Funny how many people there didn't even know Melvins. Their loss, hmmmfff. Shame, shame.

The night kicks off with Weedeater. Heavy as always, Dixie Dave always delivers: backflips and random vomiting, galore.

On with the highlight of my night: Slowed and Throwed, out come the MELVINS. Buzz in his usual blackened kimono, and Jared wearing a beautiful flowing blond wig. (Melvins is NOT gay, though).

Wrapping up the set, BUZZO announces that it was Jimmy Bower's (drummer of DOWN, and many other bands. FUN FACT: Bower is also a Melvins super fan, and claims that he was the first guy EVER to get a Melvins tattoo) birthday. We all sang the birthday song, while Jimmy stumbled out onto the stage. Buzz says, "Happy birthday, Little Jimmy!" and hands him a cake. Jared says he and Buzz had spent 12 hours making it. In a drunken stupor, Jimmy drops the cake, and looks very sad. We all laugh. As his punishment, BUZZ makes him join Melvins. So... Dale, Coady and Jimmy all drum to THE BIT. It was epic as hell. EPIC, I tall ya!

If you've ever seen Down, then you know they always end with Bury me in Smoke, and everyone comes back out. But this time, it's special. Kirk is wearing a superhero-cape, Dixie is still puking and doing backflips (he recently lost a toe; and can't do this anymore. I feel special for being able to see it). Melvins come back out in their dresses and wigs and show everyone how much heavier that riff can get.

Win? Win.
