wow arent u upset.
i hate to say it but moshing does suck. it ruins me being able
to view and decipher my hero's playing techniques and nuances.

and why does moshin suck? lame...
hmm, why IS moshing lame?
well , when i have payed some of mye hard earned money i dont want to jump around drunk and scream instead of listening to the band...
but do whatever you want as long as you not blocking my view, throwing shit at me or bumping into me like a horny german shepard...

= Moshing
moshing is fine when you are doing it, but it sucks for everyone else. i hate having to stand constantly on guard, half-focused on the music, because there is always the chance some body is going to come rocketing at me. i can tolerate moshing, its the drunken moshing with no regard for anyone else the gets to me. oh yea, and you are 14. maybe when you get older you will understand how to appreciate life in a calm and subtle way without being an ass every minute with your drunk ass mates. i usually don't discriminate based on age, but you've given me a reason to. all other 14 year olds have you to blame. but don't worry, i still love you
i mean, when im going to see mot

to keep on showing the love, this bullshit you do, which you call "moshing" isnt really moshing like when i grew up, but just a bunch of dumbasses punching each other and elbowing innocent bystanders. thats why when someone hits me i kick the crap out of them and throw them on the floor. now thats entertainment!
Hey Crazyslap, you might wanna check the age restrictions that Mean Fiddler have is you'll only be 15 at the time.
My friends almost got into a fight with those faggots who go to hardcore shows and kick and punch air, swinging their arms like idiots. Moshing I can accept, but I'd rather focus on the music than fearing getting squashed by a fat and drunk 37 year old guy moshing to nightgoat. It is cool until you get into it when you don't want to. Im just a thin and frail guy, so moshing doesnt seem to be my thing. I hate that other kind of dancing, most "straight edge" kids do, or whatever the fuck they are. Moshing is so much better and more tolerable than that shit, because with moshing you are pushed, and the gay ass dancing you are punched. I still will like to go to a show and focus on Buzz, Dale and Kevin playing, you get mezmorized by them, and it makes you hate moshing. It can be fun at times though, you have to be in the mood to do it. Moshing>punchingandkicking dance. It just bugs me when you are right next to a big drunk guy, they are uncontrollable. Well, whatever...moshing is ok for the most part.

hahahahahah!
i also agree that whole "punch the air" thing is ridiculous, and at a melvins show id say 98 percent of what they are gonna play isnt really "moshing" music, but i wont complain if i get run into a few times, i just assume that will happen. but lets say i had the oppurtunity to see VC (god willing) i could understand some serious moshing there, as their music is very condusive to running and screaming.
hey man, i may be 14, but im much more mature than the other twats in my class at school, trust me. My mates that i hang around with are all 16-17.
And ofcourse i aint gonna be an ass and punch everyone i see, but anyone who is in the pit and WANTS to mosh, i sure will. I wont be hardcore moshin all the time, sometimes ill have a little clean bounce.,..
And, you can concentrate on the music anytime, just stick on a cd, but when IM at a show, i get an adrenaline rush and i love it...
peace
concentrating on recorded music is not the same as taking in a live performance. come on, brotha...
exactly! even in headphones you can't see a fucking
guys fingers on the frets or see how he strikes the strings, etc
i used to mosh, but not at melvins shows. if you watch
buzz close enough you can see him look you in the eye sometimes
when he stops squinting for a brief second, you can't see little things
like that when your flapping your arms around and bouncing off
other punters in a circle.
i still dont know how you can "mosh"(ugh) at a melvins show anyway. they dont exactly grind on stage.
yeah back when i actually enjoyed seeing how drunk i could get before a show, moshing and especially crowd surfing was fun. but i have no desire whatsoever to do anything at a melvins show other than pay close attention to the gods of thunder. i really like seeing how buzz and kev play the songs, i always thought i did em wrong now i know for sure.
Quote from: Vcavallo"drunk ass moshers" are the ruination of melvins shows.
its good to know im not the only one who feels this way. Its irritating, because i get the impression from some of the moshers that it doesnt really matter who's up on stage or what is being played as long as its loud and vaguely familiar and they're all stinking drunk.
hey conda, i know what you mean... one year at Toad's place, Dale stared at me (or that's how it seemed), like right in the eyes for a good solid 5 seconds on more than one occasion. maybe he noticed i was staring at him and only him?
and for people who think live experience=recorded experience, do you realize that what you are hearing is an amplified version of acoustic vibrations in REAL TIME?? sure, some may argue that a record gives you the exact same sound, since it is artificial either way, but the sound you hear is not paused and then reproduced with your shitty speakers or something! there is no other way to experience music in the present than to attend a live performance. doesn't that mean anything? you are IN the music, not listening to it. the actual vibrations caused by Dale's foot are traveling through your every molecule. have you never felt that thumping in your lungs and other chest cavities? you can't beat that feeling man! that's the feeling i miss when i am not at a show. sure a live recording is alright for memory's sake, but you can never reproduce the thickness of waves your feel through your organs and over your skin, which is the very essence of a melvins live performance. i mean, isn't this what we are all here for???? (my apologies go out to all people who: 1. have experienced this and are reading for no reason. 2. haven't seen the melvins live 3. BETO. i feel for you, man. i said i would put in a few bucks for a plane ticket for you to come up here and see them. i wasn't kidding either. you need this experience more than anyone, and i am sure this community would love to help you have it. $$the beto fund$$!)
damn i am long-winded tonightT!
DAMMITT!!!!! That sucks that they canceled the rest of the dates!! Now i wont be able to mosh, i was really looking forward to seeing the melvins :( . What exactly is wrong with the band?? Dya think that they might do the dates later on?
and how old are all u lot? You all sound like youve gone past your drunk teenage days?

I dunno what you consider moshing music, but, out of the 2 albums ive heared (bullhead and houdini) id mosh to nearly everyone of the songs on those 2 albums let alone the rest of the setlist. Boris, Zodiac, Honey bucket, joan of arc....just to name a few....
You should listen to more Melvins music.
