I listened back to the one with Buzz on recently and it's awesome! I would love for him to do a bit more of that in Melvins.

Who knew Buzz was one of the nastiest frig-off mothers of thrash to ever grind an axe.

Don't even have to ask.

I don't know, that album is really strange. It's heavy, barbed, straight to the point and yet you can just hear Buzzo's typical guitar lines in among it. It's not really super aggressive or anything. It's still very Melvins style guitar just presented in among very different bass, drums and vocal attack! But it works SO well.

Venomous concept is pretty punishing but not as much in a Melvins way, I dunno dude.

I'd say a lot of it was Shane Embury.

I'l betting Buzz and Shane got on well together.

2004, woah. Where did the years go?

If it's too loud, you're too old.

This was a pretty big deal to myself, and a couple bandmates when it dropped.

Sorry for posting a lot, also, make a note of the first track title and the release date, which would be the 14 of Feb. That being Valentines day, for historical reference in 30 years from now.

Is that a humorous slight, track title/release date?

Mark it down in the book of Melvins.

that VC album is BLASTING.   the idea was a spoof on Poison Idea so it wasn't grindcore.
hardcore punk probably better describes.   so good.

then buzz left and the last thing I heard from VC was really really bad, which broke my heart.

I don't expect this new napalm collab to sound like that.  I fear it will be less chaotic.

Oh Christ!! That's a way to dampen my mood a little. I know Buzz said he wanted to do another 1983 one. I was hoping it would be the Coady record!

black stallion

I'd have preferred a regular Melvins album probably.still looking forward to it

I don't mind the 1983 albums. They tend to be "harder", more riff heavy and weirder

Yes, they usually have some good heavy tracks, but unfortunately they tend to have some dumb childish explorations too! I hope this one avoids that aspect. It will be interesting seeing Dillard tackle longer songs.
