I think nomatter what they say, they're pretty surprised and grateful of the fact that they have such an appreciative audience, considering they have such weird, wildly different creative output. They don't compromise to please people though, not in their nature.

actually thats something i've found to be pretty true amongst Melvins fans.
I'm not just saying that to try to prove that i'm intelligent either - i've just found that most big Melvins fans are fairly intelligent and aware.. especially when it comes to things like art, music (obviously ;)), philosophy and politics.
Buzz told me in an interview a few months back that they are just happy anyone enjoys what they have done. But he also doesn't get why people don't like COD.

And i don't care if they appreciate me.. I appreciate them, and support them by BUYING their CD's, records, merch at shows, and going to shows to try and make it worth their while so i can be able to see them in concert year after year!!

I don't think they hate fans, Buzz always seems to have a least one on stage every time they play. The people who buy the records and go to the shows, that's who they hate!
