Just wondering if anyone else here is going to this show?
wtf?? info please...
holy short notice!! i'm hopping an iceberg as we type!!
This Tuesday in Pomona. I havent been to the GH in years, but the PA was pretty good. It's a medium sized place. This is part of the make-up shows for the few that were canceled at the end of the last tour, when Buzz got sick. I hope it's actually happening, I bought my tickets on-line last night.
have they ever played the Doll Hut??

If your asking me, I'm not sure. As much as I love these guys, I'm not well versed in Melvology like most people here. And, I've only seen them twice...both times in the past year.
TONIGHT!
7pm
Cant wait. Anyone else going?
I'll be there!!!!!! Big Biz goes on at 8:00. No alcohol served at the venue I hear (BOO!!!!!!!!!!). Wouldn't mind meeting the famous butthole man though. I'll be wearing a L.A. Dodgers hat

I won't be at this show (even though I used to live near it)..but most likely I'll be at the Troobadour show.
I wanted to go to this show and do a 3 day melvins marathon but I opted to go to that David Lynch signing instead and save some gas. My brother and I will be at both Troubadour shows though.
damn, ya'll shoulda gone. It was empty, maybe 1/3 capacity, and I was able to be up front the whole show, something Ive never done at at Melvins show nor ever try with their crowds. The set list was the same as the last tour with Okie last with Buzz on guitar singing with Jared, the audience clapped along halfway through. The band was super tight, really nailed it. Boris was insane, the end was awesome. Very glad I went, though the drive back to LA in the rain was rough.
The intro to Eye Fly's, JESUS H. CHRIST!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe my ears. Tripping the Lion was also amazing. Pretty much the same set list I've been hearing about accept they played Revolve instead of Honey Bucket (kind of a bummer, but not that much). Crowd was a disapointment, maybe 100 people. More disapointing though was that there was this guy wearing a captins hat and jacket. I went up to talk to him assuming that he was a big Jarred fan and found out that he had no idea who I was talking about. Met Toshi at the merch table, very nice guy. Over all, one hell of a show, the Melvins did not seem discouraged by the size of the crowd, infact, they played with the same intensity they always do.
Any interesting merchandise? What was the poster like?
no poster, only shirts. 2 BB shirts, 2 Melvins. Melvins were the Devil 08' and one with a pink splatter and 5 or so faces drawn...
Thanks Highjinx. What's strange is, Brian Ewing made a poster for Pomona, before it was postponed. I wonder if Secret Serpents is going to sell the old pomona posters?
