As far as the single, I'd rather have a piece of vinyl with two songs and some cool artwork for $14, than a download of the two songs for $2. It's just not the same.

the cd reissue is for the true completist. when you're shelling out another $40 for a cd set that you already have just to get a color variation then you have perhaps reached a level of MELVINS fandom greater than mine.

Amrep sold five test pressings on ebay, for roughly $175 each. They were black vinyl test pressings; I think crybaby is referring to the multiple versions of the cd AND the seven inch, not saying that there was a test pressing of the cd, which makes no sense.

I checked the status of my order and all it said was "processing". That makes it sound like it hasen't even shipped yet.
Mark Prindle probably listened to mp3s or had someone get it for him. Haze said on the Amrep board it would be into the new year before these were shipped.

First time ordering there. Are they just generally lazy? That's great that they charge your account and just ship it whenever they feel like. They could have put up a notice at the store saying - these will ship by a certain date or whatever.

The singles are starting to arrive; I'd venture to say that those in the U.S. will see it within this week.
Chief relax they are awesome at Amrep as far as service, I'm sure they were just trying to enjoy the holidays like everyone else. Youll get it next week probably, and then I'm sure you will be all better :)

Got it today :D. I just happened to be outside and the mail lady handed it to me. Sorry if I was quick to judge, it just seemed weird that orders were placed before Christmas and nobody seemed to report receiving one yet. This piece of vinyl looks and sounds great. Excellent packing job by the AmRep dudes too.

Got mine today. The artwork is decent and the black vinyl is allright. It would be cool if they put out different colors and shit, but I'm not complainin'. I was surprised by the Melvins take on the Star Spangled Banner. It might be one of the most straightforward things they have done. Great harmonizing. Who knew our mighty Melvins would be doing barbershop quartet stuff one day. Detroit Rock City f*cking rocks. The layered solo slays...
Ace Frehley did the same thing on the original.
Normally when a band does a cover, it makes me look back on the older band and get into their material. (Think The Wipers, The Cows, Flipper etc...)
Well, the same thing didn't happen with Kiss. I still can't stand Kiss and don't much enjoy the originals. The Melvins tease out the rock.
Anyways, I just edited the MelvinsWiki. Did not know Creepy Smell borrowed from Kiss. The Melvins make me laugh every day.

This reminds me of the time I ordered 2 CDs from jack endino and not only did he put both CDs in one case but the cover booklets and everything were just crammed into one case. I don't understand.

Yeah they were great about it, they answered my email and are sending the other dis right out. I knew I had no worries. Grabbed 2 Cows CDs off their site a few weeks ago, but now theres nothing more there for me to buy! thanks AMREP!!!

Never have. I never used it that mcyh anyway. But it does sound great. And it plays 8-tracks. It also has a converter that slides into the 8-track slot to play cassettes. I'm guessing that didn't come with it originally. :)
