For what reason do The Melvins not play H.A.T. songs any more? They went much further into their back catalogue with Big Biz, even playing stuff from Ozma and Gluey Porch Treatments. H.A.T. is only 7 years old.
think because nobody can play that stuff on bass,i mean in that way
Yeah when you look at their setlists for the past few years, for the most part it's Melvins/Big Business material from M/BB albums played by M/BB. Material from HAT and The Trilogy is almost from a completely different band. I think the latest thing they throw in is Revolve and I don't think they've done songs from albums between Stoner Witch and ASA since they've been playing with BB.
Hammer - "I've got a D.O.A. to deliver C.O.D."
Amish Dude - "A-Ok."
Hammer - "Don't confuse me."

I've seen them play both "The Bit" and "Tipping The Lion" from
Stag.I'd still like to see them play "Little Judas Chongo".
Lovely Butterfly too

I stand corrected. Still no Trilogy or HAT songs. I would LOVE to see them play amaZON, Manky, songs from The Bootlicker, etc., regardless I've never been disappointed at a Melvins show. It's my fault for not seeing them when they still had Kevin. :|
HAT rules!
The b-sides especially kicked ass!
Did they ever play any of the HAT b-side's live????
"The Fool, The Meddling Idiot" is one of the, if not THE Melvins finest moments.

It's a good example of why you need Kevin for these songs. Not that Jared couldn't do it but it's a completely different style of playing.

That made my nipples hard.
They have played Let It All Be at the time of (A)SA's release. So there's ONE trilogy song. And they've done The Bloated Pope a few times. Just no stuff from The Maggot, the Crybaby, Colossus, or HAT.
next time they tour i bet they'll go through their back catalogue a little bit more and pick some more songs.
I watch that whole concert as often as I can. Kevin rules.
Borrowed this dvd to a friend a few years ago, stupid mistake :(

the Crybaby, Colossus, or HAT.
I saw them play Okie from Muskogee with David Yow. It was awesome. They've also played Eye Flys and the drum outro of Black Stooges.
That being said I'd still love to see at least Amazon with dual drumming. That was the first thing that came to mind when I heard about Big Business joining.

Lovely Butterfly too
I saw them close with Lovely Butterfly at the Troubadour on the first Melvins/BB tour (probably the best Melvins show I've ever seen). It was awesome, and they dragged that drum beat out for at least 10 minutes long after Jared and Buzz had left the stage. AND gorilla masks!

That is awesome how they actually busted out "Honey Bucket" during their last tour. It sounded a lot tighter than the houdini live '05 version, with double drums.
I would like to see them play "Bar X The Rocking M", maybe Toshi could be on stage with some wacky sound effects during the quiet parts of the song.
what about ?Pigs of the Roman Empire? don't they play one off that record?

I wish Buzz would use that massive fat tone that he uses on the original record though. No matter, it's very good live.

I imagine Buzzo has deafened himself to those old guitar tones through years of heavy touring without earplugs.
He must wear some kind of earplugs at this point. Of course we'd never know what's under that mop. Maybe he just figures all that hair is all the earplugs he needs.
