The venue shows doors opening at 6:30 pm.
I'm wondering if Melvins '83 will hit the stage right away like they did in SF at the Jello 5-0 shows.
Some of my people are travelling up from DC and the earliest they can make it is around 7:30 pm. They are on the fence about making the trip due to the start time.
Can some one who has been to Webster Hall give me some insight?
Is this going to be an early show because it's all-ages? Ending at midnight?
Any insight to help the decision making process will be greatly accepted.
Grim
i have no clue about Webster Hall. When i saw them in Phoenix at Martini Ranch it was an all ages show and i got there right at the said start time but ended up waiting at least half an hour more for the doors to open, then an hour and a half + for the show to start.
My guess would be 7:30 would be fine since its only the doors opening at 6:30.
then again, they were going onstage 5 minutes early on the white zombie tour, so you're better off getting there the day before and sleeping on the bar.

This describes my experience at Webster Hall Thursday. But I think that the start time depends more on the band than the venue. Are the Melvins known for their punctuality?
yes.
The show should probably start around 7:30. Dillard told me that they have to play early because there's a 10:00 noise curfew.

There is a noise curfew, but I'm pretty sure it's not 10pm. I've been to a few shows there (Orange 9MM, Melvins) and everything wrapped up by midnight. Unless they've changed it in the past few years.

I'm just going by what I was told. He might be wrong.
Ok I can help:
Since WH has night parties, everything must be done by 11pm no exceptions.
Main Acts usually go on at 8:45-9:15 and end by 10:00-11pm because of union labor reg's it would cost the band thousands to play later than 11.
WH has two parties every friday, the basement party Trash(Party Interpol and The Rapture Opened in 2002) which is quite good suprisingly, and another upstairs. If you stay u can go to the night party for free.
Webster hall is never all ages, you must be 18 to get in sometimes its 21 for tobacco and alc promotions. I am not sure if they clear out people from the show, before the night parties.
The Show starts 7:30pm-8pm ish, 6:30 Doors.
