I'm bringing the little woman, not gonna get close enough to the stage to break a leg, rib or anything else.

sound the alarm.  bad idea.  she'll be sick of loud music halfway through the set.

This will be her 3rd Melvins show, thank you very much. She also follows Coady on twitter.

Maybe, but there is no doubt that she likes Coady.  I went to Iron And Wine with her and almost fell asleep.

Review: Down - Melvins - Weedeater - Evil Army /Sept. 8th 2009/  Sonar/ Baltimore,MD

Ok,so first off  Evil Army didn't play, whatever, don't care. Weedeater was alright, they had some nice heavy grooves happening. But,I've got to say that 'Cookie Monster' vocals are just fuckin' played out. Enough already with the hell pit cookie growling, please. Otherwise I thought they were pretty good.... tight, loud, deep fuzz, stoner rock.

Next, the Melvins come on stage while the 'A-Team' theme played on the house system, very nice. They ripped into their set and blew the fucking doors down. Definitely playing a little faster than they usually do,which makes all the start-stop-start stuff a bit heavier. They seemed to be in a
'kicking ass and taking names' mode, letting everyone know that they meant business. The set was a nice cross section of songs going back as far as
the Bullhead era.... Pigs of the Roman Empire /The Talking Horse /The Bloated Pope / Dog Island / Dies Iraea / The Kicking Machine / Mr DNA (devo)/ Anaconda /Zodiac /Hooch /Blood Witch /The Smiling Cobra /The Bit.....couple others and they closed with the 'Star Spangled Banner'.
I can't remember the last time that I saw 'Anaconda' & 'Zodiac' live, that was awesome, the double drums made them both waaay heavier...."Oh Yeah, I Forgot To Get My Pills, I've Got To Go Downtown !".....Fuck Yes!!   I was hoping they were going to play 'The Smiling Cobra', and when they bust it out, it was fuckin' brutal...love that song. Buzz was more animated than usual...the whole band seems to just get tighter & better with each new tour. I really think ,all things considered, this is there strongest lineup so far...just my opinion.
All they had at the merch both was the two 'Eagle' shirts & the 'See You In Hell' shirt, $25 each...ouch!...the Black Eagle version is very badass.

Next up, Down....didn't see 'em, couldn't tell ya.

first off... ain't no fucking veggie monster.  its a conspiracy.   the cookie monster still turns cookies to dust by smashing them in his face.  I know.  I watch sesame street fairly regulary.
I just watched it on monday.   the cookie monster worked over one of those over-sized chocolate chip cookies.

second off... why is evil army not playing all these shows?

third off...  hey,  back off the cookie monster vox.

fourth off...  is it just me or did the MELVINS go into this tour with an attitude? could it
perhaps be jading from their past opening slot appearances?

fifth off...  I dig the way MELVINS are mixing up the setlist night to night. pretty much the same batch of songs just jumbled around. its a nice departure from the cookie cutter (cookie reference much?) setlists of the last few tours.

sixth off...  hey JZS, how did the little woman hold up?  she probably got a little jaded herself with the weedeater set. no?

seventh off...  you didn't even stay for one song of down?  I'll be staying for at least a song or 2.  its kinda like one of those deep boil-like zits you get once in awhile. it hurts like hell but for some reason you can't stop poking at it. its almost like the pain is actually pleasure. or is that just me?

eighth (8th??) off... so you don't even know if dale and coady came out at the end of down's set and belted away then?

ninth off... I'll shut up now.

1. Ok, Good.
2. Don't know, whatever the reason, it's not good enough to not play on the same stage as the Melvins.
3. That shit is old and tiered, like you, like me.
4. Yes! the fuckin' bitch slapped the audience with 25 pounds of rock cock.
5. Great set,Very strong set.
6. She did fine, she was rockin' out to the big M. She also thought they were a little more peppy this time. She liked Weedeater, but thought the vocals were kind of lame. I'm really glad she didn't have to sit through two opening bands.
7. The Melvins set was a reeeeally good. I wasn't going to ruin it with a second of Fail and the Down Syndromes. Plus, I wanted to get home while the 'little woman' was still tipsy.
8. There was plenty of badass double drum wailing going on between songs & all through the set, so even if they did, I don't feel like I missed anything.

7.  smart move.   you never want to get to that tipping point.  when they start saying shit is going to go down that means ain't SHIT going to go down.   sleep bandits.

personally, I think I screwed up for not buying that $60 busted n' signed high-hat cymbal. Would've gone perfect next to my busted n' signed TORCHE high-hat cymbal. Seriously still kicking myself over that one...
