Thanks! This really does sound great. Kinda sad the show will only be about forty minutes long, but I'll take it. It also seems that attaining tickets is still an esoteric practice at this point...

Absolutely no mention of this by the band. Not even listed on their myspace page. I must figure out where to get tickets.

Just heard back from the Sooo VAC, and the kind lady told me that the event wasn't going to have any advance tickets and that the door cover was going to be around six bucks. I imagine this will be a first-come-first-served sort of thing. She also told me that the proper info will apear in the gallery's webpage before too long.

On my way out the door to head to Minneapolis. I'll be writing a review upon my return.

This was really excellent. Blunt, but brilliant. They played "Oven." Oh how they played "Oven."

Nope. Just Buzz and Dale. They Basically played their "Buzz and Dale" set from the anniversary shows, except they added a few more songs from what I could tell. The only song I really noticed a lack of bass was Revolve. Even so, those two more than made up for the absence.

Had fun.  Really enjoyed the perspective of Dale's drumming offered by the security cam vision, as did my mother in law whom I brought to the show.  She thought is was great, was entranced by Dale and loved that they played Dwight Fry, but she really wanted to hear Hung Bunny and Roman Dog Bird.  Had a great time with Brian and folks at Grumpy's after the show too.  Here are my pics:

woulda been longer for me unless I found a way to cross Lake Michigan.  I tip my hat to your efforts though.    of course I would have liked to have gone but this little thing I like to call a "job" and "2 very young children" kinda put a damper on that.   I got nobody that wants to take on the care of my kids for more than say.. 3 or 4 hours.  and I sure as hell wasn't putting them in the backseat and taking them along.

as far as the "house wifey?"    is that a question?  no, I am not. nor is my wife.  she works. she works in mortgages, foreclosures, etc.    so she's busier than I am right now.

*I never get to do nothin MELVINSy fun!*

true. it is fun.  but it would be alot funner (fun ner?  more fun!) if MELVINS were playing on a live stream via security cam vision.

*feels guilty for hijacking this thread but...*
actually the wife is working on approval of short sales.  in other words the bank agrees to let the mortage holder sell the home for less than its worth and accept less than the actual mortgage in payoff in order to avoid taking an even more serious hit when the mortgage goes default after the poor unemployed mortgage holder quits making their payments.   so she is very busy.  you see?

                                                              Cheddar de Lite

Here's my impaired judgement . . .

I've said it before and I'll say it again, those guys have a knack for maintaining themselves all the while supporting things they believe in.  They were not the spotlight here.  They were the trophey, the draw if you will.  Played a great/neat/weird set.  It felt like they were having band practice in a garage, and I/we/crowd were in the next room allowed to hear.  All to draw attention to the matter at hand, Chris Mars' phenomenal artwork and helpin' out a buddy who feels low on the fan tank right now.  The posters were fun and interesting to look at as well.  I was introduced to a musicfest lo and behold in my own home state!  Thanks!  Way to go youse guys and dolly!

. . . . .and of course, some of you goons are seething to read this version:

                                                  sniffle sniffle
                                                   puff puff
                                                  hand on forehead
                                                  woe is me

Dropped my hanky at the front door
Got it byself; few pals on floor

                                                  Yeah, grabbed it up
                                                   with Mikey's knife

                                                         Guess what!:
I've been (Chris) mard for life!
