last night definitely was one of the best shows i have ever seen...
got to the venue almost one hour before doors opening,just in time to steal a poster,hoping for someone from the security to let me and my friend enter and maybe taking some pics with the band.i could see Buzz through the window playing ping pong,which was fucking hilarious!suddenly someone opened the door and i decided it was the right moment to enter: well,do you know who was the first person i met as i walked in?Mr Dale Crover,having a drink and chatting with some people!! decided it wasn't the moment to act like an asshole,so i just said "hi Dale" and he kindly responded,though at that moment the security moron saw me and immediately kicked me out.
finally at 8 pm we got to enter!at the merch table they had only the 25th anniversary golden eagle shirt (i picked one) and the official Malleus poster signed by all the band members (40 Euro/60 $).
there were three Italian bands opening on a second stage..honestly we didn't pay much attention to them since we decided to get the best position in front of the main stage.
Porn started!hard to explain why they're one of my favourite bands,they don't use to play a proper "song" during their whole set,just some stoned riffs here and there(Succulento) and a wall of noise with tribal drumming...fucking loud,it works so good.
Porn were Moss+Dale+Coady+ unknown roadie on bass.
after a short break with A-Team soundtrack was time for Melvins!
Buzz&Dale played the duo set (Ballad/Let God Be Your Gardener/Oven/SIP/Wings cover etc).one word,KILLER!
then Jared and Coady joined during POTRE...
was a ridiculously heavy set,one of the most brutal show i ever seen(my sweet ears are fucked)..they're like a oiled machine and the set list of this tour helps so much!
Buzz was in a good mood,he speaked to the crowd only before of Anaconda though(calling it "our worst song").the highlights for me were Talking Horse/Dog Island/Bloated Pope/Anaconda/Smiling Cobra(after seeing what Buzz does during that Smiling Cobra guitar part,near the end of the song,i just thought he's one of the best guitar player i have ever seen)/Night Goat(fucking slow)/The Bit/With Teeth
and of course,the end of the show with Jared into the crowd and Dale and Coady doing a tribal outro.
got to meet Coady after the show,he's such a nice guy!i said him i was a bit disappointed Big Business didn't play and he responded is a bit hard without Toshi(who can't go out of US) for them

very cool pictures! and good to hear it was one of the better melvins shows, i suppose a tiny venue can make all the difference in the world.
was porn's set similar to last tour's set? it obviously wasn't as messy as last year at atp (w/ trevor dunn and thurston moore on bass), that set was insanely noisy!
so that's the reason big business isn't playing on this tour, because of toshi?

it was my fifth time seeing them.this is easily the best or the second best show.a lot better than last year!i think because of the set list mostly but also yesterday they were more brutal and "less funny"...watching Jared playing the bass intro of Night Goat at center stage was epic!
yeah,the reason BB didn't play apparently was Toshi,Coady said me that the guitar is getting always more important for their sound so it was a bit hard to do a set without him
and yeah,Porn set was pretty similar to last year's (Moss---then Moss+Dale---then Moss+Dale+bass player---them+Coady) except for drums which were a bit different and more tribal.

total drum nerd comment, but i find it interesting Dale is back to the massive rack tom set-up he mainly used in the nineties/early 2000's....fucking sweet.
