I always think about that little bit on the behind the scenes vid of (A)SA where Buzz and Dale talk about why the Melvins need another drummer. Dale jokingly says "its because im gettin old" and he does his little frail limbs arm shake thing. Well im asking you will the mastro ever lose his powers due to age or otherwise? If so could he regain them again perhaps?
Don't dis Dale Doe.
The sig speaks for itself.
NO
your going to make black stallion cry with this talk.
I kind of feel bad for you (((O))), it's gonna hurt a lot when you're struck down by lightning.
The Polish president was asking his cabinet much the same question a few hours ago on final approach to Smolensk airport and look what happened to him!
He'll go on forever like Ginger Baker, and Frank Beard, and the old jazz guys.

Actually longer, 'cause once he's gone he'll continue in zombie form.

But not longer than Ginger Baker cos his solos went on and on and on and on...........
Actually, if you see Baker being interviewed behind his kit on the Farewell tour video (early in the morning and incredibly hung over), he was an unbelievable drummer, one rhythm on the hi-hat, another on the snare, another on the toms and yet another with his feet. Mesmerising.
I think Dale Crover should use an electronic kit.
I think you should apologise for that immediately
Dale Cover and powers?
Dude, Dale Crover is pure Godliness.
Never question/doubt Dale Christ.
May you burn in hell.
Take care and drive drunk.
Dale split his snare stand one of the nights Shrinebuilder played LA. I think it might have been the second night.
Split the stand. The metal part.
If Dale becomes too old to pound his drumkit, they can make bootlicker/honky ambient albums for the rest of their career.

Oh, God, that was nice. I think my girlfriend and I have just come.
hey idle, are you using autofocus?
I believe I did. Why do you ask?
just noticed your vid kept on going out of focus. you should use manual, stage lighting messes with a cameras autofocus.

One of the problems I discovered, was that the camera has face recognition, so if I wasn't close up on a face, it kept looking for one, trying to focus on one. When I turned that off, it helped a lot. Also, and this may or may not make much difference, but most of my recent vids are shot in HD. They look absolutely awful on youtube compared to putting the dvd in and watching it on a hi-def tv. But yea, it did lose focus a bit. Some of my video's it went out for as long as a minute. but I figured it was easier letting the camera focus for me most of the time, as I was trying to make sure I got good zoom's, and had good shots like when Buzz solo'd or Dale was pounding the shit out of his kit.
Edit: And your right about the stage lights....I do recall that the brighter the light's the sharper the vid seemed to be. I'll try the manual focus sometime and see how it works out.
yeah if you practiced the manual focus zooms at home you'd probably suss it fairly quickly. with the lights, as different generics come on during performance and movers change pan, tilt, color or theres more smoke picking up beams (even though theres none in this clip) your camera may spot it and try initially to focus on the light. hence why the vid oddly gets out of focus for a second or so every now and then.
I'll just hijack this thread once more here....
This vid was shot after I turned off the face recognition, and there was a much brighter stage....It hardly loses any focus compared to the other one.

But yea, I'll work on that manual focus, see if I can do better. Thanks for the tip.
no worries, ill have a look later. im off to work.

Dale is just one utter of a tasteful drummer. He is obviously extremely capable of ripping out complex riffs and time signatures, but even when he's doing the simplest of beats, its just absolutely genious. He always knows exactly what the song needs.
Dear ((((O)))),
Please refer to Glen's "punch in the gut" line.
(I keeeeed!)
The man is a powerhouse. Listen to wine, women, and song. No. LISTEN!

Dale's drumming powers will defy the laws of time and the universe and live on, hewn into the immortal body of Eternal sustain.
Dale created the universe in 7 days. and Said Let there be light.
Give us this our Dale-E bread. and we give thanks to thee in thy holy name. Amen.
