Dunno is this is the appropriate place to post this, but I made a King Buzzo stuffed rag doll last night. It's the first in a series of 2. This one I'm going to attempt to gift to Buzzo this Wednesday at the 9:30 club if I can track him down, the second I'll keep.
Just thought you guys might have an interest in some Buzzo Art, if you can call it that.

That's fucking awesome. Where's Dale Fucking Crover?
Once I get the second Buzzo made I'll start thinking about the rest of the band members. It's easy to make Buzzo since he has such a "distinctive" look.
Funny thing is for all the effort I put into it, I kind of see Buzz just rolling his eyes and forgetting it under the merch table or something.
that's great man, hope you'll have the chance to deliver "the package" to Buzz
Yeah, Buzzo ragdoll ... makes sense. Looks pretty cool man. Dig the eyes. You should put the F on the MuMu! Buzz'll dig it ... how could he not? Not everybody has people makin' ragdolls modeled on them ... kinda a trip I would imagine.
I think he meant a 'U' not an 'F' as Kevin wore that one. I second the idea tho, either that or a little skull and cross bones like he has on some Mumu's. Real nice work to you there. Looking forward to seeing a Dale, Coady or Jared one!
I was thinking about the "U"... but now that you mention it, a little skull and cross bones would look good. Thanks for the idea.
U? Not F? Yeah that makes sense considering where they stand on stage. Been awhile since I've seen 'em modeling those dapper MuMu's. Skull & Cross good though too. Just always dug the FU MuMus ... their funny ... just like Melvins!
Looks great! I'm sure Buzz will like it and ask you to produce 664 more.
See my avatar for inspiration. It's a drawing they made of themselves in the backstage room of club in Copenhagen in '95.

Buzz's drawing is EPIC.
That's really awesome. I'm positive he will dig it. Especially because it kinda looks like a voodoo doll, he will appreciate being the one who possesses it. Don't tell him you made two!
Just be there early and search in the vicinity of the venue and you should be able to find him. Either that or go to the closest Cracker Barrel.

Not a chance, I'm sure B.O. will love it.
Ask any fans who've met Buzz (or anyone from the Melvins) and they will all tell you the same thing. He's nice and respectful and most don't have bad ass shwag to offer him. 8)
That is REALLY cool. I love it, and I'm sure Buzz will also. You should have someone armed with a camera for the presentation. It would definitely be cool to have a picture of you giving Buzz a doll of himself.

I'll have the wife on photo duty, pics to be posted if I actually manage to catch a moment with him to gift the doll. If I can't give it to him at the DC show I'm sure I'll get a chance at the AmRep 25th bash later on.
the 2nd* MELVINS fan I ever knew who could knit.
*see plucky
we're a multi-talented fanbase. The zombie-buzzo painting next to the doll is also my work. :)
I love it.
I predict this will end up on the sleeve of a 7" or something in the future.
i'll steal juans most used term.
that's totally bad-ass!
show up to the venue a couple of hours early. i can guarantee you that you will see the buzzard. if you see one of the other band mates, just show them the ragdoll. i'm sure that they will think it's totally bad-ass enough to grab the king and let him know that a creepy fan has a gift for him.

That really is pretty bad ass. I didn't realize how giant it is at first, but the ODB-3 gives some perspective. Thing must be about 14" tall?
Am I the only one who finds this kinda creepy/stalkerish?
Imgaine being Buzz for a minute.
A stranger comes forward with a doll resembling you w/ voodoo dollish look. :-s
The doll looks amazing but there is something off here. :-k
"Am I wrong." 8)
side note-I want to purchase and sell on E-bay$$
standing like that he actually shrinks a bit. Laying on his back he is 17" from the bottom of his longer leg (hey I did all this by sight, give me a break) to the top of his yarn afro.
A bit larger than I intended to make it actually, but I think it looks about right. And should Buzzo be the cuddling type, he fits in the nook of your arm pretty well. lol.
It's just been signed and dated with a big ol' #1 on it's fanny. I was going to write #1 of 2 as that's the projected run, but should the King request more... who am I to deny him. ;)
I've only made a handful of dolls at this point, and while this guys is faaaaaaaaaaar from perfect... I'm really proud of it. It actually looks pretty much as anticipated.
I'm uber psyched you guys are enjoying it, really makes me feel like the effort was worth it. Thanks all!

Wait until he finds out theirs a vile of my blood stuffed inside it... wait... um... nevermind.
;)
Seriously though, that is what I was thinking at first. Hence the eye rolling expectations. If he likes it awesome, if he doesn't... at least you guys do. Maybe he can sign it and auction it off or something.
If he doesn't take it (which is IMPOSSIBLE!) I will offer you $50 straight up for this work of art.
straight up!

Buzz is gracious; he'll probably like it and shake your hand and say thanks.

Why do men collect dolls?
"NO DONNIE THESE MEN ARE COWARDS...." 8)
"Here Now! Mary, how did this poppet come into my house?"
NICE JOB!!!
That looks fantastic!
Really nice work. I love it.
I'd buy one
That is fucking GREAT and I'm sure Buzz will be dead chuffed with you for that! He collects odd things like this! Did you remember to install a gold tooth under the neck of that mumu?
I was actually trying to figure out how to do that, I opted for no mouth at all though.
You could cut it out of gold foil and glue it.
I'm going to be at the show tomorrow too. I want to witness the bestowing of this doll unto Buzzo.
I'll be the short skinny guy with a crazy beard walking around with a doll.

hey, erin's back! where the hell have you been?
I am sure he will appreciate your doll. I have been to loads of melvins shows and don't see a whole lot of chicks there.

what exactly are you saying there? :?;)
Sorry, I didn't read through the thread. It was just an assumption based on doll making. Not that there is anything wrong with it. It was just an assumption and you know what they say about assumptions.
lol, not a problem. I realize there are more masculine things I could be doing then sewing dolls for other guys. I need to go hunting or something to up my man points apparently.
Remember: be veewwwy veeewwwwy quiet... Seriously, that doll is the height of too-muchery. Nice job, sir! Good luck with the hand-off!
The untamed Buzzo is a wily and elusive creature.
I never managed to get within 15 feet of his fuzzyness... so it looks like I'll have to wait until the AmRep 25th Anniversery show to try again to gift away Lil' Buzz.
On the plus side it was a great show and I got the boxed set. Another negative, they're out of belt buckles... looks like I'll be trying to score one off of ebay.
You should make a little aluminium guitar too. Or, at least, you could find a tiny little toy guitar and modify it to be aluminium.
