Who's going?
Me. My friend and his lady. We're coming down from B'ham.
Got the tickets in March..starting to fade now. I love the "vip" system the Green Room has set up. Get to the bar early they pass out lamented passes so you can be one of the first in the venue..worked great for the PIL show!
i dont even want to know how "awesome" the show is.. TWO FUCKING SETS AND I HAVE TO MISS EM BOTH!!!! Some rich person just HAS to have their dock built that week in LAKE FUCKING CHELAN!!!! FUCK YOUR DOCK I GOT MORE IMPROTANT SHIT TO DEAL WITH!!!!!LIKE GOING TO A MELVINS CONCERT!!! i wish i could say that...well i could say that but i like collecting a pay check every wednesday so i wont..DAMMIT ALL TO HELL!!!!!!
Im Gonna Be There....Wonder What Will Be For Sale?
i'll be there as well. What merch do they have on this tour? i wanna make sure i bring enough cash
I'll be there.
BAD RONALD AND HIS GOOD WIFE and his little sister from the bay,,,
i'm going to attend both sets. i'll be bringing a crowd. can't fucking wait!!!
Definitely............will..........be...................there.............
I HATE YOU ALL!!!!! lol j/k enjoy the show
I'll be there with a small entourage.
the show was amazing. blew the girlfriend away. drank with grim a little. got alot of really good pics. will post in the coming days. my ears are at the piont of bleeding. also met bad ronald. wow what a good time. shitty merch though. got a couple shirts and a asa vinyl and a from the nurserey vinyl. already have em. just blowin money. good times
Yep, great show. My ears are still effed up. Random thoughts/observations:
-If I had to sum up the show in one word, that word would be VISCERAL. Maybe the loudest I've ever heard the Melvins.
-Seemed like quite a bit of "newer" fans there.
-I wouldn't have even know Coady was there if I not for seeing his sticks and hands every once in a while. Dale was just so overpowering. Coady is a helluva drummer, but Dale just eclipses him in every way. Coady abuses his kit, while Dale MURDERS his. Just total fucking destruction.
-Watched the first set right behind a blind guy. He was totally rocking out. I wanted to ask him what the feeling was like. The Melvins are not really a band that you "see", they're a band that you "feel", and I wanted to hear his perspective. Him and his lady moved on though so I never had a chance to ask.
-Merch was pretty thin. They didn't even have the shirt I wanted in my size. Bought a couple posters (one's coming your way G) and that was it. First Melvins show I haven't bought a shirt at in over 10 years.
-All the songs sounded killer, but the absolute highlight for me was Sacrifice. God damn I loved it.
-I still haven't picked up a copy of TBSM (nor did I listen to any of the leaks), so this was the very first time I ever saw new material live before buying the CD. It was actually pretty fucking cool.
-I didn't get there until after Totimoshi finished and was kind of bummed I missed them, but you know, family first.
-Kept an eye open for Grim and Smellis because I've met them before and know what they look like, but didn't see them.
where were the show posters at? i got in pretty early, didnt think they sold out that quick, and didnt see anyone packing any around.

Posters were at the merch table. An example was clipped up under the shirts. I got mine at the break between sets and there were plenty left at that point.

The Meat Poster showed up late, too. They arrived at the merch table just barely before Totomishi went on, so if you were checking out the table early, you may have missed them.

This picture of Tony is the only good picture I got inside the Showbox.
And a good one it is.

The Showbox was clearing out, and just about empty when I lined up at the merch table. I bought Totimoshi's Viva Zapita 45 and their Tour EP and Melvins POTRE. I figured the posters would be gone but they arrived late so I got one. Not one of my favorite posters but I liked it enough to get one.
During the show I looked over for Smellis and sure enough there he was in his usual spot.
great pics Grim!i wouldn't start a fight with Jared :o

That was pretty fuckin cool meeting you and havin' a couple drinks off the bottle together Grim. Your a good dude. Thanks for the pix.
Ha, do you get a lot of comments on your tattoo? Great pictures!
i get quite a bit of shit about it, alot of people just say "wow, thats devotion"... and really like it. others seem to be quite disgusted.
After last year's live Melvins downers (my fault, not theirs), I got to see them in Boston and then in Seattle during a felicitously timed visit. I hate to state the obvious, especially to those who only got to see them open for SchmIsis, but the two-setter was so many more kinds of awesome.
