I was cranking The Maggot last night and it occurred to me how much the Melvins collector community needs a high-quality audiophile vinyl edition of the Trilogy. The 3xLP pic disc just doesn't cut it sound quality-wise, plus, if they can put out a 4LP set of one CD, just think what how many LPs the Trilogy would be at 45RPM? None of this etching-on-one-side bullshit, though; the 45 RPM is intended for enhanced sound quality.
C'mon Buzz & Dale! Let's make this happen! You know Melvins fanatics would snap this release up in a heartbeat!

Pic LPs usually sounds like shit compared to good ol' black vinyl. The low frequencies are a muddy mess and the highs aren't great either. Kind of a mid-range shit stew.
I dunno if a 45rpm pressing would be necessary, just reissue them all individually on 180 gram black vinyl. Or maybe even 2x10".
With the resurgence of vinyl in the last 5 years or so, I'm kind of surprised that we haven't seen some reissues. Maybe because they know they would piss off a lot of their stamp-collector fans 8)
