Ok.
Drummers best works,
Ginger has Toad, Bonham has Moby Dick, Neil Peart has Tom Sawyer or maybe YYZ or Spirt of Radio, Danny Carey has 46&2 or Parabola.
What do you think is Dales magnum opus is on a STUDIO album??
I like the dynamics of Cow, the simplicity of Road Bull & At a Crawl, the hard hitting Roman Dog Bird, the slow rumbling of At The Stake, the pure speed of Anaconda/Honey Buckey/Black Stooges, and even though its a collaboration, Divorced.
I can't pick one, maybe im missing some of my other fav's.
Gun to my head im picking Cow, but damn....
I need help.
end of Hag Me has always been one of my favourites
I think it's yet to happen. (a five-minute solo with a bit of guitar thrown in at the beginning and end, I mean). Hopefully it never will!

yeah it's hard to pick one track my thoughts immediately went out to gluey as well, and the mighty OZMA of course.
but i think i'm going with "The Five Books Of The Aeneas" by Porn.
YOA drum roll always comes to mind.
I haven't really given it much thought, but I'll go ahead right now and say "Blood Witch." I like the stop-and-go at the beginning followed by the gradual buildup and skittering finale.
So many to choose from, but I immediately thought of Night Goat.
I like the song where it's all quiet, and then you hear a BOOM BOOM BOOM rolls BOOM cymbal BOOM cymbal silence..KA BOOOOM!
I'm thinkin Revolve.
Have any of you people even ever a heard of an album called OZMA?!?!

No. Please tell me of this thing you call OZMA?!?!
You forgot a major one:
Black Sabbath - Rat Salad (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOh6ywuksVE#)
I'd have to go with Cow. Such an awesome song. And unique because the drum solo is at the end of the song, instead of "head, solo, head".
Brain Center at Whipples was the first thing that came to my mind.
Good nominations in this thread, but I have to say VILE.

=D>
skin horse or brain center.
he doesn't need a signature tune. He's a monster of drumming. He's cymbalic his middle name is Tom.
It has to be Hooch from Houdini (studio). That's the first time I was blasted by the music. The first time I heard Hooch.
if Im talking to friends of mine who are melvins fans I usually refer to dale as Creepy Crover.
the drumming for tipping the lion, buck owens and roadbull stand out for me, among many many other songs.
but its a constant change as I tend to rotate on albums. listening to stag or stoner witch for a couple days and then go to ozma and gluey and so on.

skin horse for sure. makes me wonder why they only seem to ever play the 2nd half of that song live. of all the live recordings I have with that song on it, I think they only play the whole thing once. Even on the Melvins/Fantomas Big Band, they only play the 2nd half. that song would have been a great opportunity for both Dale and Dave to show off.
