Besides the 1991 Germany video, where Buzz trips and falls backwards, have you ever seen them make a mistake? In 28 years of shows and video's I don't think I've ever seen a mistake be made. Sure there's the occasional mis-timed snare hit, or Dale and Coady don't quite match up, but I don't think I've ever seen them need to start over due to their own fault.
Am I mistaken? What did I miss?
Distortion hides many a mistake.
Im reminded of this vid although dont fear its not a Melvins mistake merely equipment problems forcing a Skweetis replay!

Not screw up no. But in Orlando in 2006, Buzzo stopped the show in the middle of a song to call out some dude who punched another guy in the face in the "pit" on purpose. Got it on video too.
Not technically a screw up, but Jarod's head blew right at the start of their set at Brisbane Soundwave. A couple minutes later, it was all good in the hood and a beautifully marvelous set was witnessed!

Man, where is the footage of this trip in Germany?
I'd like to see that.
It's awesome, he ass-bumps Lori a good few feet!
so hard to see these guys to make a mistake, being all amazing musicians...

1:47 Dale probably missed a beat (not sure if is dale or coady but there's something wrong at that point)

Same thing happened at the beginning of BB's set at ATP 08.
i always thought Buzz messed up on this one part on Black Stooges...on the End LP. and it does sound like the guitar is a little out of tune as well. i'd have to listen again, it's been a while.
this is a good point though. they are true professionals.
A few times I've seen them stop the song, and then start it again. Of course, I never knew or heard what the screw up was in the first place.

The melvins screwed up when they fired Kevin.
The Melvins screwed up when they fired MATT LUKIN!
Dale screwed up when he chose the Melvins over Nirvana!
Kevin was a screw up who would stop playing bass because he was wasted. He deserved to be fired.

Amen! Howard told it like it is. Dale is kicking himself over that. Don't think he isn't. Just imagine it was Nevermind he played on instead of Bleach.

Once the Melvins were setting up, getting ready to play, and Kevin decided to take a nap on stage. His mumu flew open and everyone could see his green panties. Dan came over and kicked him in the rumpus. I got a picture of it.

its strange,

looks like it was Dale who added an extra snare hit. He was probably caught off guard by the lack of guitar to listen to for reference.
The drum outro from the end of Rat Faced Granny is really not together and sloppy from this same show as well:
11. Melvins - Rat Faced Granny (Live in Norway, 2007) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4wkVRaWZUM#ws)
I've also heard Buzz hit some wrong notes and chords at times. He plays a wrong note or power chord during The Kicking Machine on the Pick Your Battles CD. Also on that CD Dale and Coady have a drum fill that doesn't end together during You've Never Been Right

Haha that's funny but in Buzzo's defense he recovered in double quick time. For a moment there it seems that Coady and Dale almost try to change their playing back to the previous bit and there's a brief second or so where no-one's quite sure what to go to.
Yes. If you don't know the song too well you won't even notice it because he still pulls off a good transition.

Same but I can't tell if they've damaged my eardrums or the Melvins are so good I am no longer moved by music from other artists.
The first time I saw the Melvins they played Okie From Muskogee twice. I'm not sure if it was sound problems or if the band fucked up. Either way. I got to hear Okie From Muskogee twice. :D
Mike Patton played with them numerous times.....that's a pretty gigantic screw up.
The other big screw up was no Honky II or Bootlicker II.
Their other big screw up was boneheaded fans who are totally gay for them and have the cheek to diss the Melvins illest bass player Kevin.

i think they were not so familiar with some of the songs off the Houdini album at the time...probably was the very first time they performed the whole thing. you can see buzz watching dale very often during the show.
btw, melvins with just dale on drums were totally a different band

Yeah i've been thinking about this a little lately myself too. I hesitate to say that the band is better with only Dale or vis versa but there is something really awesome about seeing him play alone and how he contributes to the song. I think i prefer the single drummer Houdini Live to the dual drumming of the recent Houdini. Mind you that could just be with me being familiar with the current line up approach tho. Apples and oranges really they still rock regardless.
Buzz's totally fucked up his haircut for the last two decades, but apart from that they're going pretty alright.

Not really Buzz's fault here, but the first time I saw them live, his guitar string broke the first and second time during the intro to "Honey Bucket". Third time was the charm though.
I wrote an account of the gig under my old username (don't remember password, email address etc).
