There's a video of a melvins interview on youtube during the ASA recording. Dale explained what happened.
It was around the time that Kurt overdosed and later died. Something along the lines that they had been practising with Grohl and he was supposed to play an entire show with them. After Kurt died the Melvins invited him to tour with him, he seemed enthusiastic about it but they never heard from him since.
What. an. asshole. Especially considering Dale ( or was it buzz) that got him the Nirvana gig.
Now he's partying with Josh Homme, the Mastodon guys and hanging out with hooker's and blow. He's so cool.
Grohl would de-cool the Melvins......it would've been like getting Barry Manilow to play guitar alongside Hendrix.
Can't have that.
How about they get Bruce Cox to drum with Crover instead.....he's about 17,987,999,956,926,396,267 times better than Grohl and about 98,927,339,199,952,955,277,299,298 times more exciting and cooler.
