Title: Oct 17th - Vega, Copenhagen
Post by: jules on October 19, 2011, 06:17:33 AM
There were TV trucks around the side of the venue and a couple of dozen excited teenagers, mostly female, waiting by the side of a red carpet, agitated and squeaking. It was obvious Melvins were about to arrive.

Half an hour later, Melvins did arrive in their carriage and parked in front of the venue. Nobody noticed. The teenagers continued to squeak and spasm, unconcerned with what was emerging from the tour bus behind them. A man in a suit asked the driver if he'd mind moving the bus a bit as it would be in the shot of the red carpet from a camera in a helicopter that would be hovering overhead in a few minutes. The bus stayed where it was. I suggested painting a big MELVINS on the roof.

It turned out the Danish equivalent of X-Factor was taking place next door, and some celebs were about to arrive, red carpet and champagne, the works. Somewhere there's a video of Jared running up that red carpet waving his arms in the air. I hope it gets posted here in the fullness of time.

Buzz was in a great mood tonight. Laughing and goofing around a lot. The finale has morphed into a very lengthy jam involving Coady drumming, Dale on an i-Pad and Jared on i-Pad and chanting Indian-esque mantras; reminds me of a 1973-era Gong jam.

Danish X-Factor trying to upstage Melvins? How dare they. You should have known something was up tho, teenage girls dont fit the Melvins demographic. Now if they'ed had beards i'd say there was a good to decent chance.
