I'll be at the 4/19 show in Austin next week (and possibly Houston the next night too) but was just wondering what the merch booth for this tour looked like? T-shirts, Vinyl, CD's, any other crazy shit?
Yes, photos of the merch please.

There is a ton of merch this tour.

I've been trying to remember where Tree's is at. I plan on being around extra early (maybe even all day) to hopfully catch Dale or Buzz for a chat.

Nah, Deep Ellums is just a little... sketch.
Funny story, first time I went to see a show in Deep Ellum (x, Hank Rollins band), I was outside the venue chatting with a melvins fan. The place (gypsy ballroom, RIP) was sort of under an overpass, and I'm talking to this dude and we hear a "weeeeeee-WHUMP" bouncing over the overpass barrier into the street below rolls a tire. comes to a stop on a curb about 60 feet past us.

I totally missed Primus last year when they came by, and totally regret it, but I hate the fact that Tim isn't doing anything with them. Not that Jay is bad or anything.. but you know.
I know there's at least one new shirt ( skull flowers with roots design), a handpressed and limited GPT cd, tour poster, and some of the Amrep Sugar Daddy splits. And of course, Walsby originals.

Do you guys think of the shirts more as artefacts to collect than to actually wear perhaps? Or maybe not, i don't know.
Im interested since i never wear band shirts myself and have never owned any either. Generally they are not really to my liking since im not a fan of text or imagery on clothes.

I wear every single one. As someone who has worn band shirts for the last 20 years, it seems silly to me to buy them and not wear them since they are promoting a band I love.

Ha yeah that's great. I have no problem with that. I do notice they often tend to suit alot of people too, just they never look right on me. I guess i've never really had that calling so to speak. That's why it interests me so when people on here go crazy for the shirts. It's totally cool that people collect them or anything at all tho. I love collecting and people that are passionate about what they love.

I collect a ton of band shirts and wear the shit out of most of them, but there are some that either look kinda goofy or fit weird which I just hang on to as memorabilia. The Sasha Grey shirt would be a great piece of memorabilia.

It might be worth us Europeans stocking up on merch to sell to the Canadians in case there's none for sale there.
Thinking about it, as Melvins Lite are touring fairly extensively in Canada, I'd say tentatively that there must be something for sale. Surely?

Thinking about it, as Melvins Lite are touring fairly extensively in Canada, I'd say tentatively that there must be something for sale. Surely?
i just asked them on the facebook and the reply was "Canadian customs FROWN on product being brought with bands"
Well now they can frown the fuck off (not the melvins the customs ass clowns), why does the Canadian/U.S.A boarder be all crappy like

Someone needs to organise. Call Melvins. Offer to produce shirts in Canada for the tour. Come to some arrangement. Meet Melvins with Canadian-built merch on the first day of the tour. All parties nod appreciatively. Ching ching!
Or isn't it that simple?
i was just actually thinking of offering to be a Canadian "merch mule" so to speak , if i could get stuff sent up here and/or made and then trying to get it to the band/shows/fans , if it is too much of a problem to physically bring it when they cross the boarder

Seems to me (though I could be wrong), if the shirts are made in Canada, the tax has already been paid. If Melvins, ahem, used the money to buy (Canadian) fuel for the trip home, ahem, I think I'm developing a cough.

That's a pretty good idea! someone here has connections to the band, right? They should totally do this! Even if the end result means that everything is super expensive, I wouldn't mind, and I'm willing to bet a lot of other people wouldn't mind either
Make coady wear all the shirts at once when crossing.

I doubt they will BRING merch with them because Canada charges bands up the ass for that kind of thing. But - they may have special merch created IN Canada for the tour?
For anyone that cares they had BOTH GPT and TBATB letterpress last night in Charlotte.......
also the only size of the bat tour design shirt left is Mediums......
Would anyone be kind enough to be able to pick up a copy of each of the letterpress CDs and a normal copy of The Bulls And The Bees for me at an upcoming show?
I live in England, so can't really get hold of this stuff any other way (the UK shows I've been to have had rather sparse merch tables).
DC picked up an Endless Residency set for me on the last tour and that worked out nicely (thanks again!).
Will paypal costs, p+p etc.
PM if you can help!
Much appreciated!
I did not see any normal Bulls and Bees at the shows I went to. I think you will need to contact Scion to get it?
There weren't any normal Birds and Bees at my show either, only letterpress.
Anyone pick up any of the Totimoshi splits at shows? Any different from the other versions?

I might be wrong, but I think there's two runs for Gluey: the initial 1-50 signed by MO, and the second run 1-59.

How many versions of the letterpress GPT are there? I have seen the ones signed by Mackie with the silver stamp(50 I think), and mine has the gold stamp and is out of 59.
quoted from the amrep bored :
QuoteNOTE: There are only 9 total in this run; 51-59. Difference I noted is a gold stamp on these, as opposed to a silver stamp on 1-50.[/qoute]

They won't ship outside the US, apparently.
no, And Unfortunately outside the US, Touring bands such as THE MELVINS have a hard time with customs.
Usually they Drop off their Gear and merch through Canada and pick it back up on the way through.
Border Tax, if the melvins don't pay, I Don't pay... :(
The BEST thing they did for us Canadians was make us "skull" T-shirts. Last minute and cheap, LIKE A TRUE concert T-shirt SHOULD BE!!! none of that Fancy shit..just BOOM...MELVINS T...25 bucks..don't bitch.
I'm pretty sure they Called a T-shirt Press guy downtown a few days in advance and basically just had a batch made up for the Toronto show, and sold the surpluss the rest of the tour, How Thoughtfull of them!!
:D :D :D

that kinda sucks, i was hoping to get my hands on some rare vinyl :(
From what I gathered last night at Webster, the splits are olive green (but I only saw one), and Walsby didn't know if any of them were any different. GPT letterpresses are sold out, and the letterpress Bulls and Bees mysteriously vanished. Brian said that they didn't arrive for the show and this was early on in the evening, but they may have turned up later. Not sure.
Next time I see them live, I will pick up vinyl for anyone who wants it.
can anyone try and pick me up a bull and bees letterpress at a show.
i will hapily buy you one to for doing so.
pm me if you can help

For collectors that go insane with color variations:
There's at least two different colors being packed with the Melvins tour edition of the Totimoshi split, a bright turquoise color, and an army green color.
The colors I know of so far: army green, turquoise, lavender, pink/purple, and the olive/lime green.
Here's the picture that was sent to me:

Gracias senor!
Excellent
Picked up this stuff at the recent show in NYC. They were only selling 10 (#'d out of 70) of this poster and I got the last one that was up on the wall. The "Am Rep cage match" poster was like $25 and this one was $40 (way more awesome too if you ask me). The Totimoshi split is on the color on the left from that picture of the three variations.. like klurdge said - the Bulls & Bees Eps didn't make it to NYC from one of the previous cities... or something like that... weird.

The Tara poster is Beautiful! I got a copy too
(You should check out her gallery in Brooklyn http://www.thecottoncandymachine.com/ (http://www.thecottoncandymachine.com/)) She's a sweetheart
The Am Rep poster was signed by the whole band which was a bargain @ 25
The whole mystery of the missing B&B letterpress CD's was really annoying :x
Yea kinda regretting not getting the Am Rep poster... I have other signed Melvins posters but that was signed by both Melvins and Unsane (I think). Thanks or that link to Tara Mcpherson's work... her other Melvins designs are really cool too. Totally annoying about the letterpresses... I really thought this would be the time I could all the current Melvins stuff while avoiding Ebay. Oh well.

Grim Fandango is an artistic success on so many levels, makes for a great synchronicity.
