I have tickets and can not wait for this Sunday!

I was wondering if anyone knew who was opening the show, if anyone?

Some websites say Retox is but they are playing NYC the same night.

Hopefully it will be a solo show - all Melvins!

Well, I'm not going to be at this show.  :? Enjoy the show, you lucky skunks. I'll be seeing them October 1st, and it's going to kill me to not read reviews for these shows, because I don't want to know the setlist before I see them. I know they might play a different setlist for the 51 day tour than the Rochester/Canada tour, but I don't want to risk it.

Would somebody please photograph/describe in detail what's on the merch table (if there is one) and find out if said merch will be going to Canada, too? Thanks very much and have a great evening!

1902 EDT - Corporal X is waiting in line to get into the building now. The next message I receive will be from the merch table if there is one. Please stand by.

1915 EDT - Still in line. Weather good. Temperature 83 degrees. Still standing by.

1917 EDT - Corporal X is IN THE BUILDING, repeat, IN THE BUILDING.....

1932 EDT (come onnnnnnnn, come onnnnnnnnnn.......)

1935 EDT - Corporal X reports that the merch table has not been set up yet but has been told there will be merch.*   A recon will commence in 30 minutes but I don't expect to hear anything until after the gig now. I will report Corporal X's findings in due course.

Chhhkkk.

edit * This turned out to be untrue.

Finally, Corporal X of The Melvins Army with The Dunn after the show. How awesome! A big hand for Corporal X in bringing songs and photos to our attention as they happened. Astonishing work in the field, Corporal.

Great setlist there. Ha ha Dunn, there's no way i could wear a tie playing an upright bass. It must have been getting in his way all evening.

Mr. Rip Off live was super.

And by all accounts, it's seems that Trevor is, at least, a bassist for the Melvins.

Epic show. Awesome setlist. I loved that they opened w/ Eye Flys. I would have rather seen Pitfalls in Serving Warrants and a few from Bootlicker rather than History Of Drunks & Sky Pup, but I'm not complaining. Shevil was a great closer. The set clocks in at about an hour, and it was just right. Trevor rules w/ them, his vocals were great along with his playing. Thankfully he didn't moon the crowd in his Angus duds .
Only thing that sucked was no merch.

There was obviously a breeze there that night and the windows were insufficient.

Actually it's to stop his cymbal stands from creeping away from him as he hits them.

The young Corporal is my daughter and this was her first concert.  The show was so amazing for her but getting to meet Trevor is still unbelievable to her.  Thank you, Jules for posting the picture of her and Trevor, she was very excited to see herself here.   :D

I cannot put into words what it was like watching Trevor playing the songs from Freak Puke.  I was in awe watching him.  There were times that my eyes couldn't keep up with how fast his fingers were moving - he is super-human!  And I didn't notice the tie get his way once!  Mr. Rip Off was exceptional and Eye Flys with the standup bass is SO DAMN HEAVY!

I urge anyone who is not going to one of these shows to do anything you can to get to one...hitch a ride, steal a car, whatever...just be there!

I was surprised they dropped those two songs and added Set Me Straight - DCH - Sky Pup.  I hope they put them back into the set.  And I REALLY hope Tommy Goes Beserk is added during the 51/51 shows.  That seems like a great song to end with.

Thanks, Judy. :)  She couldn't have had a better first concert experience.  That's still all she's talking about.  We didn't catch the art show.  :(  We drove from Pittsburgh to Rochester the morning of the show.

Yes, with so much awesome on one stage you'd think someone or something would have to spontaneously com-bust!

Yes, she's been trying to get me to take her to Melvins shows for years but I wouldn't allow it because she was definitely too young or small, rather.  She's eleven now and not too tiny anymore.  Also, she's quite the little fangirl for Trevor...Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Madlove, Dreamers...so that made it completely awesome for her.  But now she thinks she should be attending all of the shows with me.  Last night she asked, "You're taking me to Tomahawk, right?"

I agree, that is A+mazing parenting right there.  And eleven sounds like a good age. Well done, dude.
I can tell by the photo that she was very happy to meet him - and I'm sure she'll treasure it always and forever! I know I would!!!!

I saw the download you put up from the show - thanks for posting it!! But I must admit, I'm hesitant to listen right now because I'd so much rather experience it live first!!!

You know what I think would be really cool with this lineup? Dr. Geek and Foaming. I say bring back some of the HAT stuff.  :) I kind of have the feeling they won't play Tommy Goes Beserk... It seems like it might be kind of a hard song to do live. Might be more effective with two guitars for the middle section. I hope I'm wrong though. Maybe they'll pull it out for the 51 day tour.  :)
