not sure if it was Paul Leary or King Coffee who said that this was a go for sure
being as i can't get an answer on their message board
does anyone know when it comes out over here?
i know i wont be able to find it up here in canada, so i dont want to miss out on this release
This is the first I've heard of it. I would love to hear the thing. Next time I see King Coffey at a show I will ask him. I wager he will be at Melvins Lite in October, provided he is not out of town.
Melvins/Butthole split is part of the Sugar Daddy 12" series it should be up at the Amrep shop in the next weeks i believe.

Maybe not so soon,I heard that the pressing plant sent them blank 12"s, so they are getting them re-pressed properly with the color splatters on them.(Manufacturer mistake) Meanwhile I heard they accepted half of the blank ones so the band could sell them on the tour as a special tour only addition. PErsonally, I wan't mine to have the color and match the other 4 I have.
the butts will be 3 songs form 1-31-1987. it was posted in the butts forum awhile back. i got them somewhere, but it was supposed to be a surprise.

mine is crystal clear.
does that put it in the million dollar category?
yeah i got clears for #5+6 on the tour stop in Fargo. managed to snag one of the splatter copies of #6 off amrep, so if anyone wants to trade for/buy MY million dollar clear copy...
My Butthole split has one spot of blue splatter on it, along with the red and white spots. How rare is that? I have yet to get out the magnifying glass, to see if there is a tiny picture of Hitler in the center of the spot. :hitler:
It was a real treat listening to the Butthole Surfers side last night. Didn't know these tunes at all and never heard this side of them before. Embarrassingly I admit I was never a huge fan, not that I disliked them, just never got into 'em enough I guess. I remember having the cassette to Empty Worm Saloon (Which I loved) and that was about the extent of it. This early period stuff is great!!!

Independent Worm Saloon is a very, very good album but it doesn't quite compare to the classic stuff they released in the 80's. I might have even liked the Butthole Surfers more than The Melvins if they had continued to be as consistently good as they were in the 80's.
The Melvins covered this song with Kevin:

I heard that if you have the version that lists the BUTTHOLE SURFERS tracks as NO RILE, GERRY FRED and PHILADELPHIA TO LIBYA you can take whatever the best ebay price is and times it by 100.

Personally, I lile their debut, PPPPPP. I hear Gibby lent it to Johnny Depp once, and it gave Johnny the inspiration for their band together. Can't remember what it was called, now........................
My favorite is probably Picasso Twatdonkey.
Locust Abortion Technician
that is my favorite psych record. well at least when im on shrooms. i got my copy a few days ago and i keep playing it. love the b side but i have been playing the a side but turning the speed down 10%. i dig it.
I love Whirling Hall of Knives off Rembrandt Pussy Horse. Actually everything up to and including "Hairway..." and the live bootleg double is fan-fucking-tastic
