Cool. It looks like the Malleus isn't the actual screenprint. It was probably cut out of one of those poster art books. Also, why cover the Kozik with that god-awful Goodtimes?

They did it to censor the boobies.
That creature from the black lagoon poster is the very first poster I ever bought.
That Kozik nun is a top 5 favorite of mine.

Nice to see the
A. Horkey Conservatory, Oklahoma City posters next to each other. I have them both framed as well...
Looks like a pretty cool show
I love the Kozik devil nun as well, use to have the T-shirt which mysteriously disappeared many years ago, I'd love to replace it someday.
looks like I'm taking a little drivey wivey. walled lake = pretty dang close
This is the guy that cuts out posters from books, and then sells them as 'mini-posters' on ebay. I'm amazed that people would pay as much as they do for cut-outs..

People is stupid.
QuoteI love the Kozik devil nun as well,
Two different posters. The nun one I was referring to is in the first picture on the right-hand side.
ahh... that nun is pretty damn cool as well.
whoever did the Cut-out faces of the one with Buzz, in the crowd I recognize his style from wayyyy back in the 90s, I think I saw some Weird obscure Grindcore single, or Even something with this same art technique. or It could have been a Jello collage like this with him and Mojo Nixon. cant put my finger on it.
Holy hell

I honestly don't see what's so bad about selling his little posters (that are cut out of books) on eBay. They aren't expensive or anything. It's not something I would buy, but what about the kid that just wants to hang some
Melvins on his/her wall and can't afford a S/N Print? If you're not artistically inclined enough to make your own and have limited funds, why buy a whole book for just that one
Melvins facsimile? I think he's providing a good service. He obviously has an appreciation for
Melvins. Look at his huge poster collection!!
And, he's willing to share it with others buy making an exhibit. Rawk on!!
I would say its sounds like a liability.
Hes either a Die-hard fan with fools courage, or a total e-bay sheister..
What he's doing is legit, and I don't have an issue with it. He's not trying to fool people, and states what you're buying in his auctions. They're not for me, but as was stated earlier, some people just want a Melvins picture on their wall. Just about everything in the pics is a real screenprint.
no one ever heard of Getting up and simply doing it themselves huh...
Money, like alcohol, the cause and solution to all the worlds problems.

That's good to know. If he's stating that they are copies I really don't see an issue either.
Haven't even looked into the details of this show---sheesh. Regardless of what has been stated here, I never lost interest in going to check it out. I've just been so busy. Wonder if legit screenprints will be featured there?
Most of the posters in the first two pages are legit screenprints. I'd assume what he's exhibiting is the real deal.
Hey guys
Been chatting with the gallery owner and he says it'll be up and ready in just a few weeks. The grand opening goal is for the 25th of May, but everything is still up in the air at the moment.
Stickers, posters, melvins schwag 8)

dang, I could have contributed a few posters to this. not that it appears as though there is any open wall space.
Same, but I gotta split. I got a promised private viewing if it's not open by my leave time 8)

Oh for sure! Walled lake is about thirty minutes west of Detroit- kind of in the country area. Everything is for sale but most are still available by the artists. A most impressive personal collection by the gallery themselves. Really looking forward to it.
A quote from the gallery owner :
" Since this is America, everything is for sale. There's just a few that i really don't want to sell - you'll be able to tell by the price (haha). most of them, however, are still available from the artists so i'll send people directly to them."
what do you think that Emo's 7th Anniversary one goes for?

If you can find one, probably under $100.
hello melvins.net - looks like the cats been let out of bag for a few months here already, so we thought we'd finally jump in and let you know it's all true, it's for real. tucked away on the most secluded corner of a small lake, isolated from the traffic back and forth from Detroit to Ann Arbor, our humble little art gallery has been confusing the locals for a year-and-a-half. we've officially "opened" the show, but it's still a work in progress - follow along on our facebook page, or better yet, if you are in the southeast michigan area on a saturday afternoon - stop in.
here's a little behind-the scenes for tomorrow.
thanks for your interest - enjoy!

some folks came to the gallery today because they heard about us on this forum. it was really refreshing after three weeks of "who are the melvins???" - thanks, it was fun!

yes, please post a link to posters you have for sale with prices.
we will be adding a page to our website for the MELVINS posters. at first count, it is over 250 pieces so it might take a little time...but, soon.

final wrap-up of the melvins. we have compiled all of the pieces from the show - 280 of them in total - here:
http://www.splattgallery.com/melvins_show.html (http://www.splattgallery.com/melvins_show.html)
probably the single largest page of melvins posters on the internets - message us for prices and availability.
