Title: Melvins Lite, Haarlem, 25 april 2013
Post by: tottel on April 26, 2013, 05:20:42 PM
The evening opened with Big Business, with the sound being a little bit too quiet for my taste. Especially vocals were lost in the beginning of the performance. It got a little bit better during the show though. Interesting detail was that Scott Martin was playing with a EGC, a see-through-model (is it Buzz's?).
After that Melvins Lite were absolutely awesome! Trevor Dunn's bass sound gave me goose-bumps. Dale might not be the fastest drummer around but I can't think of another drummer being so creative/sensitive AND heavy at the same time, his timing is just unbelievable. Buzz was tight as ever. At one point he was even talking to the crowd.
I can't help but to like them just a bit better being a 3-piece....there is something in the dynamics that is being held back when there are two drummers.....

I enjoyed the show a lot!
And I can't wait to see the European Residency in Paris!

Every time I've seen Big Business I've found Jared's vocals hard to hear, at least at the beginning of the show.
