August 27th Pappy and Harriets in Pioneertown. anyone been there? sounds like some crazy business. its like between big bear and joshua tree. any of the regular LA/CA people going? this is like a 5 hour drive for me to get there hahahaha i might as well go to the FYF in LA if im going to be sweating my no-no zone off in the desert. tickets are $15 too. man oh man any info on this would help. y'all
I would go. You can stay in Joshua Tree. That will probably be the coolest venue on the tour. Fuck dealing with FYF Fest. Barf.
I would go out to JTree for this show, but I am going to the two shows in Seattle.
I live in LA and was planning on going to FYF, but pioneer town sounds like a great stop. Now I'm debating what to do...
Maybe I can convince some people of taking a roadtrip with me?
I will be at this show if all goes well. It's a great little joint. saw les Claypool there in March doing his duo De twang stuff. It was a blast. chill vibe. cheap beer. and its outside so it won't be too hot by sun down. One road into pioneer town... One road out... doesn't get much cooler.
Pioneer town is really just a bar in the middle of nowhere...usually a biker stop during the day and a place for jeepers to stop coming down the east side of big bear. JT is pretty far away, lodging in Yucca is much closer and better. I really want to go to this, my mom-in-law lives about 5 min from there....it really is BFE.

I am probably going. It is a wonderful venue, out in the middle of no where. Literally, there is nothing else around it. An old country western bar/ restaurant. The stage is outdoors in a corral. It would be a good thing to share a ride and I can drive. Just PM me if you are interested.
Just a warning! I usually don't miss a Melvins gig, like ever!! FYF is a real drag. I wouldn't go for any reason. I hate all that Indie rock and the crowd it draws. My apologies to SNIVLEM!!
I agree. There is not a chance in HELL that I go to a modern day Rock Fest.
