Title: Apologies from St. Louis (July 23, 2013 - The Firebird)
Post by: gigalo on July 24, 2013, 12:12:58 PM
My city is bad, and I feel bad. Really wish I had had some Cracker Barrel gift certificates to give to you fine men. Thank you for continuing with your set despite all the violence and beer.

I was the ginger with the handle bar moustache in front of Mr. Pinkus. Mr. Crover looked me right in the eyes during the War on Wisdom, "You're the one they're talking about", Both of them would remember me, I'm sure. All I can really say in defense of my shitty city is that it is cheap to live here. My share of the rent is only $165, and I have a 12" sub that belongs in the trunk of a black mans car blasting all hours and nary a neighbor would dare to complain. Honestly, last night was the first night I 'went out' all year, unless buying the tickets months ago counts. This is a scary place to live, and I hope you guys got the fuck out as soon as you could. I survived a home invasion a few months back, and getting to see your performance last night has been the biggest motivation to survive for me this year. When I have to walk to the market to use my food stamps, brandishing my knife, singing Melvins songs is my first line of defense against the black man. Manky is probably my number one song to sing, and it was really sweet that you played it for us last year at the Firebird.

As a 34 year old fan since 1993, I am always grateful to see my favorite band perform live, but if you ever grace my shitty city with your sonic annihilation again, I will be expecting something very Colossus of Destiny like.  Seeing Queen and The Bloat crossed off the set list before the show started was a real elbow in the ribs to move to Denver. Or anywhere else, fuck.

Mr. Pinkus was living the dream of any bass player last night, And Mark D. would have been proud, I think. And Let it All Be? That was the one song I was really hoping to hear, thank you for playing it! My ears are still ringing.

Again, all apologies, if the words of an agoraphobic hikikomori mean anything to anyone.

Long live the MELVINS!

Once again, St. Louis proving why the Melvins have only played there three times in the last ten (+) years!

Hope they continue to still play there.
Pretty awesome seeing Dale lay down the law , though

Word of advice for everyone,  DON'T THROW BEER AT DALE CROVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The black man is probably upset at this ginger for being a welfare queen.

I'll show myself out now.

"Crover came off less like the cool guy that also played drums in Shrinebuilder, Fantomas, and oh yeah, Nirvana, and more like a crotchety old man yelling at kids for walking on his lawn."

from the above posted review.

I saw that same crotchety old man at the last MELVINS detroit show reacting to the exact same situation.

god bless dale crover.

Maybe next year Dale could stumble onto the stage completely arseholed and throw bottles at the crowd.

Forgive me, I'm foreign; is a 'beat-up robe' something you wear when you beat people up?
