What is the most hard earned dollars ( or easy earned ) you have spent on some kinda Melvins summin for yourself ?
What was it ?
What was the hardest piece of Merch for you to acquire ?
For me it was ........
hmmmmm,
maybe Lysol with the tape 70 $, ummm , nope , ASA was 78 at the record shop when i originally bought it.
prolly that Tora tora tora book set thing for a hundred bucks plus shipping .
next would be
A senile animal with buckle and pizza box for a hundred .
Hardest to acquire was ....
The Monthly series of 7 " s , which I pieced together over the years and was down to needing two of em. But I decided to go back to school a few
years ago (at 33 ) and sold them last spring to help buy food :( someone offered me 300 and a hepa-titus Lp, I took it .
Someday I will piece the set together again. At least they went to a good home.
Oh crap , I forgot about the other Pizza box set I bought from Amrep. what was that , like 225 or 240 to have it shipped to canada ?
then customs nailed me for another 30 clams :( that was the most for sure.
At least it was a lot of wax , so I can justify it to myself .
Crap again , I bought an extra BSM of the junko cover for like 90 bucks too , prolly plus shipping.
Damn. I could buy a ( cheap shitty) house with the amount I spend on their merch.
well maybe a car at any rate.
Even if it is tough to buy grocers , least i gots tunes !
"St Peters dontcha call me, cause I can't go ....
I owe mah soul to the (melvins) company store . "
I think the 13 disc box set. However much it was.
electroretard test press.
houdini residency haze xxl edition test press.
then the wooden box set i imagine. ($500)
then a range of other test pressings etc.
wooden endless residency 500 + shipping + customs, ending at well over 600.
sealed lysol without tape
spit it out needed some persistence and hard negotiation on discogs.
Melvins AmRep Singles collection from the 90's. Complete and the first one is signed by Buzz and Dale. $250
Second was Endless Residency Eruo Edition, think I got it for just over $200
Think I also paid around $150 for my trilogy
$500 plus for the ER Wood box

(Granted I think these are some extreme auction results)
I spent two grand for some of buzz's pubes.
The Rock is Hell Residency Box Set (normal version)
then Houdini and Stoner Witch on vinyl in good condition
then the Melvins 1983 10'' NYE edition

think there is only one thing on that list that was me who bought it, and im at the very bottom, so one more high price item, and im only on page two for highest price on an auction site.
but i have multiple higher ones that werent done on no auction site so they dont show here.
I once tried to spend 3 digits on a MELVINS item. but there were paypal issues. 8-[

WOW!
that musta been some rad item !
It sure would be sweet to have the wooden crate !
or that Isis Shades of a swarm set that I saw on those listings ,
Man I bet Buzz and Dale are laughing their asses off when they see those shit sandwiches go for like 400 clams ! HA!
( No offense if any of those are y'all )
The most I've spent on the Melvins was a trip to ATP 2008 that the Melvins and Patton curated. Worth every penny.
The most on a Melvins item had to be the European version of the Endless Residency vinyl on orange wax.
The Endless Residency wooden boxset - by a long way!
The End (Nihilist Edition)
$100 clams
1 million dollhairs
Jesus, This is a loaded question. :(

Only if your significant other is snooping around here!

$600 for the Melvins - Endless Residency Wooden Boxset. I purchased one of the last ones from Haze at the Shepard Fairey Gallery show awhile back. It was more expensive than usual because of the gallery's cut. Haze made up for it by sending me a killer wooden Melvins show print he made. Stand up guy!!!!
Also I ended up with one of the rare "Silk Screened Side D" editions. Fuck yeah. I was also at each of the shows recorded for the vinyl - so it is pretty much my holy grail.
Total Dollars Spent On Melvins Merch : Best not to think about it ......
Hours Spent Enjoying Said Merch : Numerous
Aggravation Level After Missing An Online Release : Medium to High
Happiness After Acquiring A Missed Release : Medium to High ( bitter plum due to extra expense , but a tasty bitter plum nonetheless)
Favourite Piece Of Owned Melvins Merch : Uncertain
Most Listened to Melvins Vinyl ( recently ) : BSM Junko Variant
First Ever Melvins record Purchased : Eggnog, back upon its original release ( was also my first 10" record).
Synopsis: Melvins Merch Addict

Habits and patterns associated with Merchandise addiction are typically characterized by immediate gratification (short-term reward), coupled with delayed deleterious effects (long-term costs) of Musical enjoyment .
Hmm, I can live with that.
My top 6
1. Bullhead on LP - 80 bux
2. BASH 13 10" - 50 bux excluding shipping
3. Honky LP - 49.99
4. Prick LP - 39.99
5. 1983 10" - 35.00
6. Gaylord 7" - 30.00
Honorable mention: Scored a copy of Alive at the Fucker Club for twn bux in Hendrson, KY. the guys there obviously didn't know what they had.
Also seen a copy of Neither Here Nor There at this place for like 70 bucks, paperback. Worth it?
I didn't spend the cash but I've got neither here nor there which was a gift from my pop. Both sentimentally and monetarily high value.
Neither Here Nor There.
Like $90 or something a few years ago, maybe cheaper.

Yes, there are some good early stories from the band and many "extensions" of album art. Don't leave it on your coffee table though for Mom or the kids to see. There's an image in there in particular....
Mine is in extremely good condition but I don't read it because the glue is dodgy and feels like it'll break.

Almost all of the paperbacks (Mine included) had the cover separate from the spine..
I still want to replace mine with a hardcover.

If the label says Melvins, you know it's quality!
Im so happy I picked up BULLHEAD, HONKY, LYSOL all for dirt prices.
Bullhead was like 11.95 sealed.
HONKY was probly around 17 something, sealed.
Lysol for about 14.99...again, Sealed.
Ahh Glory days of Rotate this are long gone.
And a used copy of STAG for about 20 smackers.
man, I was the only kid around looking in shops for Throbbing Grislte and Melvins LPS that I knew.
The most I've ever spent was probably the book, when it came out on tour. I would count the 8" qee but I added the bill to a bankruptcy. 18 bucks ballooned to over 600 cause the wifey forgot we had a credit card. :?
Haven't had one since!

probably a trip from Snohomish to Portland with my sister and our friend to seem them in 2008 at the wonder ball room. totally worth it. got to be right in front of buzz... may or may not have touched his shoe while he was playing (sorry buzz) and met them after the show! it was awesome! we were there at like 2pm and so were they and they were just hanging out at the downstairs lunch room and we were too but we were too intimidated to say hi. so we sat within listening distance for like 4 hours and then walked around Portland... biggest regret of my life as well.
and to make it worse after the show when I met buzz I was like yea we were here at like 2 but didn't wanna bother you. so of course his response was:
"NO you TOTALLY should've! im not one of those hard guys that doesn't hang out with fans you shoulda said hi!"
I was 15 at the time and now 21, that phrase has haunted me ever since. remember it like it was today.
ugh. oh well. maybe in another lifetime.
and if for some strange reason buzz reads this... whether you meant to or not, whether you would even remember or not, and whether you even care or not... THANK YOU!
the day I met you I asked you to get me into the next days seattle show which was 21 and over. you said you couldn't and they don't even let your underage family come to those and its up to your booking agent. i said thanks anyway and recommended playing matt alec live because that's the coolest song ever.
the next year there were two seattle shows. the first was 21 and over but the second was all ages. and in the set included matt alec along with all the other mangled demos and even a surprise cover of my favorite song by my other favorite musician. let me roll it.
it was the coolest and greatest thing ever. im sure you didn't mean to do it, but it was like mailing me a fresh batch of melvins cookies and it made my life better.
thank you buzz. whether you meant to or not. ill keep pretending it was for me.
Recently spent $50 on eggnog vinyl
I bought Your Choice Live Series on vinyl recently too and spent nothing thanks to Discover card rewards points. :ohsnap:
Both should be arriving in the mail this week along with another recent purchase. :buzz:
Make sure the vinyl isnt delivered whereby the mailperson folds it and slips it through your drop slot. :x
Why?? Why did you have to put that awful thought in my head?!?!
If that happens I'll sick my kids on him which is worse than any vicious guard dog imaginable.
Because its happened before!

$5.00 on a cat head and crossed bones button back in 2003, my most prized Melvins item.
My triple platinum Melvins Toilet seat that plays Honey Bucket everytime you take a smash. :P

I think I have a Coady glove and a Dale stick.

Good news, Just take care of it for me.
ah I wish you guys would tape your LPs...nothin I can do, you will never understand how it depresses me.
Saves them from so much abuse and keeps them nice mint and most importantly still worth a mint. :(
I will mail you my broken heart. :(
But Congrats.
Spent hundreds of dollars on each trip to places such as LA, SF, Seattle, and Denver to see the Melvins. But my most prized possession is something I didn't pay a dime for - the skull signed by the entire band, Haze, and a few others given to me years ago in Denver.
No suicides D!!
:cobain: [-X =;
I'll tape this bad boy. You have my word.
Or I'll just listen to the cd.
Eggnog and Your Choice Live have particular sentimental value as they are the 1st two melvins albums that resonated with me. I fell in platonic love with the band after a few healthy doses of these 2 beasts. It just seemed right to make the vinyl purchase.
