got on beale st. at about 5 p.m. . i said to my pals "hey i bet they are walking around so keep looking." twenty seconds later i walk right past buzz and do a double take. so i walk over and say Hi buzz i'm a huge fan blah blah. i was surprised at how short he was. i think i could take him. anyway i was completely star struck and felt like a little school girl meeting the beatles.( how appropriate they played the beatles song) i mumbled out a few more statements like come to arkansas blah blah. about this time i recognize the even shorter guy standing with us, mr. trevor dunn. so i talked to him about his new bass player article and whatnot. got autographs. trevor drew some musical notation and buzz did a parody of the same. i was and still am giddy as a schoolgirl. that's not all. after parting ways my friends went into one of those crappy stuff/hippy/thrift stores they got but i just met buzz I Can't SHop!! so i go on down to the venue and walk around back. the door was open and trevor was back there with a roadie. i chat some more and go in. it's me buzz, kevin, dale and the soundboard guy in the club. that's it. buzz and kevin are standing around and buzz is reading something and i go up and introduce myself to kevin. he is a very nice and personable gentleman. i say it's nice to meet you. i'm star struck. and he says " oh don't be we're jerks." i ask how he liked the melvins sound compared with the cows. he said different but good. so i stand in the club two feet from the stage for twenty minutes while they do sound check. dale stared at me the whole time. then i got kicked out. my head was spinning i was just in the presence of my heroes!! fuck. well it seemed like forever until the show started. while my buddy was at that hippy store he stole some gardening gloves for dale. when dale started let it all be to start the show he threw one trying to hit dale and it landed on his cymbal. it stayed up there for a while. a few songs later he threw the other one and it landed in the same spot. kevin saw and picked one off the stage and put it one his left hand and played like that for a while. dale grabbed the other one wiped his ass with it and threw it back. at some point in the show dale bounced his stick off a tom and it went high up and when dale tried to catch it he fell backward off his throne. kevin put the glove in his pants. i was right in the middle, the closest to the stage. highlights were let it all be and tipping the lion again. oh yeah and the fool, the meddling idiot ssslllooowwweeeddd dddooowwwnnn. can't wait till next year.
oh yeah buzz's rant went something like this-"hi my name is buzz what's your name? so me and the boys went to graceland today. you know elvis died while taking a shit at graceland. so what did i do. i took a shit at graceland. and i didn't flush it either. because neither did elvis, THE King. ( at which point i yell you're the king ) i mean how could he flush it, he's fucking dead! yeah so i left a grumpy. it's called a grumpy b/c whoever goes in there next is going to be grumpy. you guys want to hear a joke? knock knock. who's there. little boy blue. little boy blue who? micheal jackson. (i had heard it before so i'm cooler than you) get it? we got kevin on bass and dale back there on drums. we got one more song off our HOSTILE AMBIENT TAKEOVER RECORD!!!

I get laid all the time. I'm Richie Goodtimes. I don't really give a damn about your bullshit detector. I was one of forty artists asked to do a poster for the tour and somehow I got the Memphis show.
I put myself on the poster. It's a mindfuck. Also, I really enjoy day glo.
Also...I'd like to say for the record that while that poster is absolutely hideous to look at and actually kinda hurts in it's dayglo-ness, that's exactly what I wanted it to do. It's not pretty, but neither are the Melvins.
with this being my first melvins show, i have to say it was pretty cool. But one thing pissed me off, when i noticed fluids all over the floor by kevin, i thought it was piss, and that woulda been really cool. but then he droped the water bottle and my hate for kevin rose. yeah i met buzo too .
wow it was unbelievable how many nirvana kids were there, u prob know if u went, i was in the front right next to that glove throwin guy, and got spit on by kevin......that basterd..
