Volume 1 available for pre-order now; Vols 2, 3 and 4 (with Neil Hamburger, Melvins and Slight Slappers) available for pre-order soon.
Order the regular versions singularly or go for the box set:

The Melvins track has been described as a 'classic rock number'........
The Necks is suprising, cool news! I'm probably waiting for the Melvins and Hamburger split singles though.
Anyone here has recent live experiences with Hard Ons? They are playing here very nearby soon.
Saw Hard Ons about six months ago. To be honest, wasn't impressed. Have been a fan of theirs for 25 years (the first gig I ever went to was Hard Ons), love their early stuff, but not a fan of the later stuff.
Only interested in picking up a copy of the Melvins split, for obvious reasons.
Box Set now says sold out.
Thanks for the tip Jules...
Hi Everyone,
Vol II in the 4x Split 7" series celebrating The Hard Ons 30th Anniversary is with Melvins!
I figure this might interest a bunch of you. You can join the mailing list here if you like:
http://weemptyrooms.bigcartel.com/mailing-list
We will announce pre-orders via the mailing list first, later copies will be available from the bands direct.

I'm really looking forward to hearing the Melvins cover of Ambition.
It's pretty true to the original in some ways but it also sounds a lot like one of their newer "classic rock" songs.

"classic rock" songs? give some examples, please. do they remind you of BadCo, or sumthin'?
What's the original?
It's a Glen Matlock song.
In regards to Classic Rock I've just noticed the last few records (with the Big Biz dudes) have had a lot more elements of bands like Kiss in them. You know, less grating, more having a good time.
Sorry I'm shit with names I just listen to the albums start to finish.
I'm interested but I don't know if they can ship to South America and the shipping cost to my country (Chile).
$7.50 shipping to anywhere outside Australia, standard post
Thank you.
(That is $7.50 USD and not AUD, right?... Silly question, I know).

Well... according to the XE currency converter, AUD is a little bit more convenient for me than USD... but to be honest, no.
It's $AU. We are an Australian label.
Yeah Nude With Boots was the peak of their classic rock binge!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuc--3JFFEU
I can imagine this would be quite heavy
Nice song. Got a Social D-Prison Blues vibe, with the lead guitar wailing all the way throughout.
Which makes me wonder-do they arrange this more like the way they did their covers in the nineties (to play live),or more like Tres Cabrones (with some siren-like guitar line wailing)?
It will be faster than this version.

No. I have gotten emails before but not for this one
I got the email Thursday that said online sale would be Thursday Sept 25th at 10am Australian eastern standard time... which with a quick Googling revealed 5pm pacific time Wednesday Sept 24 US...
Yeah I got an email on September 19th with the presale info.
I guess some people that signed up after that date might not have got any notification.
i didnt realize the hard ons were this popular - i always thought they were
just a minor footnote on the aussie music scene. very surprising indeed!
no email for me. boooooo.
Great! I wasn't done signing up. #-o
I wouldn't have seen it anyway.
i received the email on sep 19. those who did not get it may were too late with signing up, or the mail is in your spam filter.
WER were pros with setting it up... but the splits were gone in less than 10min.
there will be a second batch online, also copies from the band.

Bugger me those Hard Ons/Melvins 7"s were popular! The Hard Ons/Melvins split 7" pre-orders sold out in 5 minutes!
And it would seem it was not a particularly European friendly time to try and get on the internet. So the next and final batch of pre-orders will go out on Wednesday 1st Oct 9pm AEST (Melbourne, Australia). Probably stating the obvious but don't order one if you already got one in the first round, trying to make this as fair as possible. On that subject I apologise if you are not able to get one. This label is a labour of love - if we were to make more copies with this kind of packaging we'd have to charge at least double the current prices as it is very time consuming printing and assembling these all by hand.
Converter did not work. I checked a globe, I'm calling it 4a.m. Pacific. Eastern time can go fuck itself! [-(

Hey everyone,
If anyone has signed up to the mailing list and is certain they confirmed their subscription and certain they did not receive the email (as in you've checked your spam) please email us and let us know. A few people seem to have had this problem which is of course a concern to us. I have emailed MailChimp and am waiting on a reply from them. Looking after our mailing list customers is our main priority so if anyone missed out on the email we sincerely apologise.
The signup form is here for anyone who wants to check their subscription:
http://weemptyrooms.bigcartel.com/mailing-list
And yes Hard Ons are ignored by the media but have some of the most dedicated fans of any band this country has ever produced.
Thanks for following up on that. I guess I switched from my phone to a tablet, so I didn't complete my sign up? Or something?
Yeah I honestly don't know but I believe when you sign up you get a confirmation email?
Also some people who were previously on the mailing list (as in from years ago) may have slipped off when we transferred to mail chimp.
Finally Melvins will have their copies around early/Mid November. I have no idea what they plan to do with them but I would say that selling them on a tour is a safe bet
this is a lot of work...
For all those complaining about time zones and notification etc. - now you know what it's like for us Aussies dealing with US on sale times!
:-({|=
Hi everyone just got this back from Mailchimp:
" we would recommend checking with the subscribers to make sure that they have your "from" email address in their contact list or added to their address book. Email clients tend to allow email to be passed along properly if the subscriber has listed the reply-to address as a known sender.
If there is some type of firewall or filter that may be blocking emails from coming through, then we would recommend having subscribers whitelist MailChimp's servers. Since most corporate or educational email addresses have strong filters, whitelisting our servers should help things get through to the inbox."
Apologies if any of that sounds obvious. This is kind of a difficult thing to resolve since we can't check the email accounts of everyone ourselves.

Boom indeed!
That was fast but at least I pre-ordered it.
Ha! Got one this time, as it's only 2PM here, not 3AM.
Damn how did i miss it again!!!!
WER has done a great job with this limited edition release. The two release times was nice, it's given everyone a decent chance of grabbing one of the singles.
Supposedly another sale time for these singles will go up sometime in early November. The singles will also be available at the upcoming DEAD shows, and most likely some will be for sale at one of the upcoming melvins shows.
Hey everyone,
Yeah this batch went even faster than the first. Real sorry to anyone who missed out. There will be a final online batch for sale when the records arrive early November. The bands will also have copies for sale and finally we will have copies with us for sale at the merch table at all the DEAD shows on the east coast this November/December.
In other related news it turns out Wantage USA still has copies of the Australian first pressing (180g, screen printed) of DEAD - Thundaaaah! As far as I know they are the only people with copies of this:
http://www.wantageusa.com/index.php/area/bfdc381ab78f15539d86b3b46c0acb60/fuseaction/catalog.main.htm
Also there will be a DEAD/Rabbits split 7" flexi coming out soon - it comes free with the next issue of Unbelievably Bad magazine - we will have copies for sale soon. We have a few extra copies too so we might do a cheeky limited release version of it separate from the flexi.

I agree. I missed out both times, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Here's to hoping some are left by the time the Bellingham- Seattle shows roll around.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for the kind words. We can never make everyone happy, but basically these records are limited because they are made by hand and we don't pay ourselves a wage for the time spent printing/folding them.
Just to clarify though - we do not expect the pressing plant to send copies to us until early November. So i think that basically puts the next run of Melvins shows out of the question, sorry.
I would like to add that "We Empty Rooms" is a great name and I'm pissed I never thought of it because it would make a GREAT band name. Especially for the kinda stuff I like to do.
"We empty rooms" seems to match the narrative of the Melvins career, at least until Nirvana hit.
Could have been a title on GPT or Ozma.

I used to listen to "Love Is a Battlefield..." when I was in high school like a obsessed person. I remember finally seeing them in 94/95ish? And I was blown away. That was when the drummer mostly sang (maybe another dude sang too. I don't remember) and they just exploded with energy. I haven't heard that album in years but I have the Neil Hamburger 7 inch and that's good. Now I wanna get that album again and see if it still holds up.

Hey, if you're guys' (WeEmptyRooms) goal is to make as much money as possible, why not offer both the MP3s for $5 or something? Probably about 50 of us would buy it on this forum alone. Just a thought...
Yes!
If our goal was to make money we would not run a record label.
But in truth the only reason there is no digital purchase option is because we don't have the rights to it. I'm with you on this one, I would happily pay for a digital download of all the rare stuff I miss out on/can't afford to purchase and pay for postage to Oz. As a label we generally offer both, always when possible.
Good points, WER. Thanks for putting up with us, and putting out a Melvins record.

7" arrived in Melbourne yesterday (although I guess it didn't have far to travel!)
Very nicely put together package, with the Melvins-like feature of unreadable credits printed on the inside of the record cover :)
Also great to get a high quality digital download when purchasing a Melvins single!!!
Original drawing of the Hard Ons/Melvins split 7" + The FINAL copy available for sale are being auctioned off for a very worthy charity:
(Highest bid currently at $120) - Hey everyone, earlier this year I had the honour of doing this art for a split 7" of two of my favourite all time bands Hard-Ons - Official and (the) Melvins. I'm auctioning off the original drawing together with a copy of the 7" donated by We Empty Rooms - Record Label & Screen Printing - All proceeds of the auction will be donated to Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre which is a Victorian based not for profit organisation that provides help for women and children experiencing domestic violence http://www.safesteps.org.au
This will be a silent auction via my email - jaceartyfarty@gmail.com - please email bids and I will post updates as regularly as I can. If you're not interested in bidding please share this post around so we can raise as much money as possible. I'll keep this open until Monday 22nd of Dec - Thanks, Jace
One question, did you ship all the international orders?
International orders should be out by Monday. US orders from Portland, OR. EU orders from Germany.
Anyone overseas who ordered a DEAD 7" at the same time your orders went out last week from Australia.

I'm a big fan of Eolian and their lineup. Have actually performed on the same bill as many of their bands (Diesto, Under Mountains, Purple Rhinestone Eagle)... Anyways, the split 7" is kick-ass. great package for a helluva price.
uufffffff, too bad the chilean post office is slow as hell, I want to get this record as soon as possible.
How is the quality of the package and the vinyl?

eolian has released the last record from DEAD in the usa and will also do a US release with the new DEAD LP.
Patiently waiting... Love to hear about other arrivals!
I got this yesterday, came from AU (Maybe cause I ordered the Dead/No Anchor 45 too?) . So glad I waited until it came to hear the songs. It's awesome and the packaging is beautiful. Well worth the wait. Nicely done :D
Arrived today from X-Mist. Fabulous!
I got mine, along with DGFITS 13. It was a good mailbox day.
Got mine yesterday. 239 of 306.

WER did a great job with this release.
Curious to see what these fetch on the bay. I love love Love Mine and would never sell it but somehow it's validating or maybe just exciting to see stuff I have sell for big $$$. If I was smart, which I'm not I'd invest in the stock market, but this for me is more exciting. Stuff is really "hot" at first then 6-8 months later seems like most people who wanted it have it and the prices plummet. I'd rather pay more early on because in my twisted mind it's more likely to be in minty fresh condition.

People are going nuts for Hard Ons stuff at the moment. There seems to be a huge resurgence of interest in them.
Right, I wasn't taking that into account, all of their fans combined with Melvins fans and the fact the thing if freakin' beautiful. I hope they do another edition as previously mentioned a slightly less labor intensive one and I'll buy that too!
First one sold for $111. DGAFITS 13 first one sold 133!
Put it on my wantlist on Discogs. Got my first offer-$90.00!
I can listen to it free online, ya know?!!! [-( =; [-X

It was 16 dollars shipped...So consider that. If I would have missed out I'd have jumped at 90 though.Additionally WER said they may press a less elaborate/time consuming edition if there was demand, which I think is safe to say YES! I have never bought anything on discogs, mostly positive experiences?

I bought Mark D-Ruckus Juice on there. Only purchase, so far.
I had another record in my wantlist.
I was getting at least one email a day, just telling me that some vendor had it,
same price I had already seen. That's the only complaint, so far.
They convert the prices from Europe, but I had to Google to figure out the shipping.
If someone has it domestic, basically the way to go.
But I like the way the site is set up. Easy to search, tons of stuff.
Sort of like a hybrid of Amazon and eBay.

I hope they do another round of these!
Hey guys,
So obviously we (The Label) are out of copies. Hard Ons have been selling copies at their recent shows but last week had a bunch of these (and other merch) stolen. So keep an eye out for some prick offloading a number of copies.
Melvins copies were sent to Toshi Kasai in L.A. I have no contact with the band so can't say if they have picked their copies up nor when they will sell them at gigs.
The re-press, realistically will be mid-year and is going ahead unless any bands object.
I don't know what's worse out of this. The fact that some prick could take the merch or pose as a Hard-Ons fan to do it. This is a bands livelihood. They don't sell shit, they don't make much to cover the traveling costs. I know Buzz will be pissed. So many other bands look up to these guys as well.
It's shit alright. Could not happen to a nicer band.

In what city did the merch get stolen?
Their hometown, Sydney
This makes me want to kill! :x
I'm currently trying to buy this item.
What do i look out for? Numbers?

Yeah, you should post the numbers that were stolen, so if they show up on ebay or discogs we can release the hounds.

Good idea! Let's find them especially since WER was so goo to us melvins fans.
It is a good idea but honestly I don't know which numbers i gave to Hard Ons.
Working out of a tiny office in the back of the house means stuff is not always perfectly organised. The fact any are for sale on ebay sucks but no point in me wasting energy on that.
Any idea how many were stolen?

You guys were so good to us and delivered us those records that are incredible especially for $16. I'll gladly do another pre-sale scenario and even pay more $ if that helps to get the second less laborious pressing going.
Yeah we will do pre-sales for second pressing but I don't want to do them until I know the records are close to ready. The majority of customers are really patient - for which I am very grateful. But the longer the time between pre_order and posting out the more emails I have to field from people asking where their records are.
And I don't want people to have to wait too long anyway.
Mine's number 260. Gotta say it again, that's a really nice looking package you guys put together. Super fucked that some got stolen, that's a real shame. Sorry to hear it.
Hey so has anyone managed to buy a copy off Melvins yet? I'm genuinely interested as to when/how they sell their copies

Knowing them they will only be sold at 1 show in California that they will play in a deli which is still serving food to customers.

Got it! Thanks buddy.
*very descriptive!
"As part of the Hard-Ons thirtieth anniversaryl, they picked a handful of bands to put out split releases with, and one was Melvins."
Thanks Buddy, I ordered one too!
anyone got any feelings on the girly vocals on the hard ons track?
The Neil Hamburger splits and the Slight Slapper splits will be on sale Thursday!
Got it! Thanks again, buddy, WER.

the melvins side was repressed on the euthanasia single :D
Unfortunately despite every effort made at our end this was never re-pressed. I told the band from the beginning the plan would be to re-press - both bands have no problem selling out a 7" record.
I contacted Melvins a number of times (long before the Euthanasia 7") to confirm they were happy with the terms of the re-press but they never replied.
I was not willing to risk doing the re-press without the bands confirmation lest something be not to their liking.
So it's a bummer but that's how it is.
The Hard-Ons are releasing a new album 'I'm Sorry Sir, That Riff's Been Taken' on October 21 and Tim Rogers from You Am I is the new lead singer in the band!

I never would've thought a power pop singer like Tim Rogers (Oasis were fans of You Am I) would front a punk band like the Hard-Ons.

i saw YouAmI open for Soundgarden and Reverend Horton Heat in 94. i liked their set a lot. bought a cd and didn't feel that it quite lived up to what i saw on stage. i thought they were at least energetic, compared to that thud/ twang/ whine bullshit Oasis does.

I think that's always been a bit of an issue with You Am I for me they're quite rocking live but their studio albums are a bit sedate and a step slower. On Oasis I remember Noel Gallagher talking about You Am I in interviews and they got them to support them on their first Australian tour.
I never knew Keish de Silva was kicked out of the Hard-Ons due to sexual misconduct allegations in March, 2021. Anyway the band with Tim Rogers as it's new lead singer starts their first national tour in Australia with him on Thursday.

The Hard-Ons have a new album 'Ripper 23' coming out on June 2, this will be the first album fully involving Tim Rogers from start to finish as the last album was mainly written before he joined the band. The band have just announced an Australian tour to promote the album and will be announcing dates for their 20th European tour soon.
A great quote from Tim leading up to playing his first show with the Hard-Ons:
"It was just joy, straight away," Rogers told Music Feeds' David James Young in 2021. "We were planning a show at Frankie's Pizza that was going to be my first one with the band. The guys said to me, 'Why don't you write a setlist?' I called my best mate in a panic – I was like, "fuck, I can't whittle it down from the 83 songs I've picked."
