Meet up at Pikes Place before the show. A memorial drink for Smellis at 6 pm.
happy US tour to all you!
Anyone who's going, PLEASE take some good pics of the merch! The photo posted from the Sacramento show isn't good enough to really make out anything!

That Altamont Mrs Creech was only $10 shipped from Secret Serpents, last month.
Just letting folks know, so they can load up on things that are only available at $30. :nerd:

Yes. They're like crack. Calling out to your wallet,
while you have important Melvins merch decisions to make.
You've probably already met Brian Walsby at the merch table,
if you've been to some Melvins shows. He's a great guy.
He gave me a free poster at the Buzzo show a few months ago
(Just because I spent a lot of money already).
Here's mine.

Sorry to hear that; I get the impression you don't miss many Seattle shows.

Very happy for you. The first time I saw the Melvins, they were opening for L7 ('94).
Don't know if a young feller such as yourself has ever heard of them.
Melvins fan since then. L- who?! :P

This will be #3 in 10 years.
My 11th Melvins show and it's probably one of the best I've seen. The openeing band Les Butcherettes weren't too bad. Lots of energy and the drummer played barefoot. Set list was pretty much the same as the Sacramento show with the addition of "Moving to Florida" which sounded amazing! Glad that they brought the Wipers cover back into the set. That's one of the reasons I got into the Wipers. At the end of the Pop-O-Pies cover some kid jumped onstage and took Dales set list while they were finishing the song. I pretty much broke the bank at the merch booth. Picked up the Crover single, Melvins/HepaTitus split, the Night Goat reissue, and the glow in the dark Crankenstein 10". Would've picked up the Altamont stuff and show poster if I had the cash. They also had an autographed edition of "This Machine Kills Artists"
Le Butcherettes are amazing. If you're one of those that likes to mill about or show up late, do yourself a favor and get there in time to get up front for them.
I've never seen an opening act command so much attention and absolutely own the stage the way they do.
Their records are awesome. The live show is just insane. They remind me of the first time I saw Monotonix. Beautiful unpredictable energy.
Don't miss them.
Its been a LONG time since I've seen a Melvins crowd react to an opening band like people have reacted to them.
That kid that hopped up and grabbed the setlist was immediately nabbed. It was a brazen move, but he didn't get far. Security pulled him back out of the crowd. Stay the fuck off the stage.
thanks,i must check Le Butcherettes!

How many members did they have? I'm only seeing pictures of Teri and Lia on drums.

The second shooter was behind the grassy knoll? I see. :-k
Thanks.
I'll echo Idle's sentiments about Les Butcharettes, they fucking KILLED it. Lia is an absolutely amazing drummer, she had me completely hypnotized. Definitely worth getting to the show early for!

Did she make goofy faces?
Anybody know the name of the bass player?
Chris Common, who used to drum for These Arms Are Snakes.

Thanks Conda! The three of them put on a hell of a show. Crowd really treated them well too (at least at the Portland show).
He has a studio in El Paso where Teri demoed some stuff for the new disc.

Oh, sorry. Don't want to give you a heart attack.
Jacksonville is a sort of inside joke, amongst the Melvins and their fans.
Basically, they opened for L7, the crowd was awful, King Buzzo talked a bunch of shit.
They released it as a live track, entitled Jacksonville.
I'm sure you'll have a much better experience.

Do you think the young man jumping on stage for the set list killed any possibility of an encore in SEA? Was there and encore in PDX? It sure looked like they planned on coming back on stage.

He didn't. The show ended the same way in Bellingham and Portland.
Melvins never encore. certainly not these days. two sets maybe, but never an encore.

Spent the morning downtown
ate some fish
got a photo with buzz before the show
bought the new shirt
and met some coool fans
i dont think the stage jumper ruined the encore
i think you gotta be a devoted audience to make the melvins encore
a lot of persistent yelling
maybe managment comes and says
'play another song so these bums with go home'
I do not think I have ever ever ever seen the Melvins encore. Too much work to leave the stage only to come back.
I think encores are mostly a way to get to the restroom.
Funny thing is, even in Phoenix, I've never seen these guys drink much of anything onstage.
They must have exceptional bladder control. Must be something in the water up there.
Listen, I'm really sorry I used the term encore. I just was curious if the show ended early because of the jack-ass.
