I'm trying to figure out how many of these babies were made. According to the Melvins Museum site, there were four different kinds, 100 of each :
http://www.angelfire.com/mn/TryChicken/collect.html (http://www.angelfire.com/mn/TryChicken/collect.html) ....
(thanks to super conda for the link!)
But now I'm confused because one of my tags says 76/144. I have another tag around here that is "x/144."
What can you guys tell me?
If you have a baby in the bag with the tag, can you tell me the 'style' and number on the packaging, please? I'd appreciate it if we could start a tally of some kind.
Thanks
JUDY
Really? Really, guys and gals? Nothing? Nothing at all? How is it that a forum of TRUE fans that LOVE merchandise not have a single thing to say on this.
I'd love to ask the artist, or get a true confirmation on the numbers of each style + # that was created. 100 of each seems out of the question. 144 seems more relevant, but I'm not entirely convinced or proven with a fact. This is not ridicule to the artist, it's just dorky confirmation. This is interesting, let's talk!
This is a chain mystery that we should love to look at together.
Lets not all reply at the same time people! :o
Condi, I'm bored. Wanna go get a milkshake?
I have not been able to get my hands on one of these bastards, and know very little about them.
But man i do love a butterscotch milkshake!

Those dolls are nice collectibles. They're a little like the snivlem doll you have and won't send on.
Wait....Snivlim is still wandering the Earth?

Oh snap! Leave it to a Disney character.
Now he'll never be a real boy.
Hey JUDY I have one, it sits by my amp and is no longer in the bag. One white head, one black, and black and white arms on the opposite sides. Black t shirt. Uh, what was the question?

It's OK that you don't have a number, take a pic if you can!
Is she wearing a skirt or just undies?

Uh, what was the question?
I guess my original prompt was curiosity of # and styles that are out there. I'm willing to bet a lot of lurkers on this forum have one, too. I'm interested in photos of both the babies and the numbered tags for reference. Maybe one day they can be added to the merch section of the wiki. They're all pretty unique.
I am just in love with these babies.
Hey she lives at my house now, adopted her for like $87 I think. Thank you!

You got a good one :P Very unique
Now I'm curious about the little colorful thing that's near (or possibly attached to?) the foot.
It looks like one of those little silver maze games that you could trade for tickets at Chuck E Cheese.

It is a casserole dish with a plastic lid and a picture of food. It took a long time to get one for under $100 which was my self imposed limit. I definitely pissed some people off by messaging them and saying "when your auction ends I'll give you $100 for it?" I saw multiple listings people start at 150 then lower to 125 and they never sold.

Anybody know if there were multiple editions? Or a numbered/unnumbered situation...
Do not take the edition numbers for these dolls literally.
It all started with one 7" 10 years ago, hmmm... That'd look cool on my bookshelf!
 That's how it starts......
I guess I never posted a pic of my tiny babies
