Have you ever rated, commented on or written a review of a Melvins release on Amazon.com?

Who else wrote a review?  I'll check it out and give it a thumbs up if it's good.

I read a terrible review made by Meezer on Houdini, where he slaughtered it totally and gave it 1. That's not very helpful.

Was it this one?

"Can someone please tell me why people compare this to my favorite band Nivarna? Sometime's it's really fast like hardcore death metal like Slipknot and sometimes it's really slow like they got tired. what!!! make up your mind please. I guess it's funny when he's singing about goats but this isn't nearly as good as Nivarna."

Any reason people are so strongly against reviewing albums on Amazon?  It's a way to tell people what you think about an album without pretentious bullshit writing like Robert Christgau.

I forgot that I reviewed Seig Howdy and Millennium Monsterwork under a different user name.  It's not my best writing but whatever.

Seig Howdy 5/5 Stars I'm at a loss for words

I love absolutely everything about this album. The only depressing thing is knowing that we won't see Kevin on any future albums.

If you are a Melvins or Jello Biafra fan do yourself a favor and get this album as soon as possible. It will be one of the best things you hear all year.

Millennium Monsterwork 3/5 Stars They came so close

This is a good album but there are a few problems that keep it from reaching it's full potential.

Problem 1 - The quality. The drums sound pretty bad on this recording. It really is painful to listen to sometimes but for the most part you can ignore it because Dale and Dave are great drummers. The bass is very difficult to hear as well.

Problem 2 - Some of the songs just don't sound good. The Omen and Page 1 come to mind.

Problem 3 - Not enough Melvins and some of the Melvins songs that are here are cut in half. (Hooch and Skin Horse)

Problem 4 - And this is the big one, the entire setlist isn't here! Below is the setlist that they played that night.

01 - Sacrifice

02 - Black Stooges

03 - Page 01

04 - Page 02

05 - Page 04

06 - Night Goat

07 - Promise Me

08 - The Omen

09 - Cherub

10 - The Bit

11 - Page 29

12 - Page 11

13 - Page 03

14 - Chariot Choogle

15 - Dave Scott Stone Noise

16 - Mary Lady Bobby Kins

17 - Lovely Butterfly

18 - Page 14

19 - Jew Boy Flowerhead

20 - Page 06

21 - Page 10

22 - Hooch

23 - Mombius Hibachi

24 - Page 23

25 - Skin Horse

26 - Cape Fear

27 - Page 27

28 - Page 28

29 - Experiment in Terror

30 - Let God Be Your Gardener

31 - AMAZON

32 - Let It All Be(encore)

Yea, it's depressing knowing that a few of those weren't on it. It also would have been nice if this was a dvd instead of a cd.

But despite these flaws I do find myself listening to this quite a bit. It took a few listens to get past the flaws but once you do it's a pretty cool live album. I'd only recomend this for the die hard Fantomas fans.
