Free show at the tiny little place called The Continental Room. Went with Jules and my drummer Paul Alexander (who is a member here but cannot remember his username as he hasn't logged in in years!). Hung out some more with Der L and his friend Liza. Got to hang with Homeless Dad too.
Caught the soundcheck - soundcheck ruled. I have never seen the Melvins on such a tiny stage! It was INTIMATE. The venue was packed - the Melvins destroyed! The energy in the room was so insane that my old ass could only hang in front of the stage for three songs before I remembered that I am way too old to be "caught in the mosh!" If only I were still in my 20s or even 30s I could have done the whole set.
Same setlist of course. And a great setlist it is.
thanks for the review

Slim chance of that. I think the meeting boardies thing is overrated. Good to put a face and a personality to the persona and get to know one another in a different sort of way, but it doesn't make a gig any better. Although i guess if someone is an outgoing people person who likes meeting new folk they would find such experiences beneficial. For myself i think it is actually better NOT to meet people from here or online in general. It's never the same and can only alter things. Im willing to bet there are a lot of people here that if i met them in real life i wouldn't like them. Or they me. Sometimes the ignorance or distancing really is better.
I hate people, but i love meeting people on here. I've had a lot of fun and good times with pretty much everyone i've met in person. It doesn't make the show "better" just adds to the fun of the whole night. Have a beer , doobie and a laugh. Good times.

So basically Glen what im saying is there is no chance whatsoever that you or anyone else could change my mind on that. Well, that is unless you spiked my drink or something.
don't be coy.
Glen's like that carjacker in 'six feet under' that made Ian smoke drugs at gunpoint.
lots of accusations being thrown around.
it's ok. I know the truth. Ian wants to party.
trapped inside a party... unable to get out. will there be naked ladies?
ok.. that's it. I give.
Ian, that wittiness and humour must be appreciated by others in real flesh too. If you met either me or for excample Glen, without this being published here on the bbs, just between the lads, would that change anything?
If I ever meet any of you, I will offer to share my weed with you. However, I will not be bummed if it ain't your thing. But I will always offer at least once.

i wouldn't, but I'd sure the hell would want to! Not taking the chance to meet boardies is fucking ridiculous. Except for one. Or two. Or... Well fuck it, maybe he's right. :P
I would love to meet all, cause behind the written words there exist a totally different reality. Although Jules told me in London that those americans he met in flesh from the bbs, was excactly like they were here in reality, I`m sure there must be more to it. Brian had rightfully every reason not to like me, due to my silliness especially early on th bbs, but when we met in Bergen that vanished, the bbs was all history, it was a totally different ballgame. And that I`m sure would be the fact with every single one here. Cause then two or a few meet, without the rest of the bbs "watching", the communication is exclusive, you hear laugh, you see mimics, you hear tone of voice etc. In fact the most interesting for me to meet, would be the least possible.

Time to set up a Melvins Cruise. Charter a cruise ship, hire the Melvins to play.
