Here's where you post the songs you haven't heard in a while--or ever--that you'd love to see Melvins tackle again as part of their regular setlist.
Mine at the moment:
- Manky
- A Suicide in Progress
- Evil New War God
- Cow
- Honey Bucket
- amazon
- Warhead (Venom cover)
- See How Pretty, See How Smart
- Blood Witch
I was so happy to see Amazon again for the first time in what seemed like many years
I saw them do At A Crawl the very first time I saw them in '94 and haven't seen them do it since.
Never seen Charmicarmicat :(
U didn't do the residency tour, GiveMe45?
No, I was gonna try to make it up for the Seattle one but couldn't make it work at the time
Okay cuz I was gonna say they definitely covered that one then. Buzz uses a D battery as a slide on that one
I'm sure they'll bring that one back though--easily among the heaviest in their cupboards.
ANYTHING off of Hostile Ambient Takeover
Everytime I see Melvins, Honey Bucket gets a go.
Wouldn't mind Black Bock or some Honky.
Top three off the top of my head:
Billy Fish
Oven
See How Pretty, See How Smart
Green Manalishi
What, are they too cool to play Priest these days? 8-[
Civilized Worm
Dog Island
Manky
Charmicarmicat
Since you included the "or ever" option:
-I'll Finish You Off
-The Fool, The Meddling Idiot
-Manky
-#2 Pencil
-Billy Fish
-Rocket Reducer #62
-Vile
By the way, what is MIA?
Missing in action.

I'm assuming that shifty eyed smiley means you are aware that it's not originally a Priest song.....

I'm aware of that, but tell me....which version do you hear when they cover it?
Pink Bat.

Pure digital silence
They've been doing it as an encore for the last couple of years now. Where have you been?
they could bring Blood Witch back into the set pretty easily. I always liked that tune.
Chief, A friend went to a show in Melbourne early 2000s and they played Pure Digital Silence. Had their backs to the audience and stood there in front of their Amps for several minutes doing nothing. She said the crowd started booing but Melvins, of course, didn't react. Think they launched straight into manky or Amazon next. Brutal!

Yes! Had no idea. That rules.
Yeah, they did that during the Geek tour. Here's an example at 1:02:30.

that's not exactly "digital", is it
My thoughts precisely
I Still need to work on my version.
Yeah, that's not exactly it. Maybe they only did it once (Like the time they unplugged all their instruments to play)....regardless....hope they bring it back.
Damn I miss Kevin.

They did that every show of '02 tour ... instead of leaving stage for an encore (which they don't ever play) they instead simply stood stoic, blankly staring down the crowd for several minutes as the crowd went apeshit ... Never thought of it as PDS but simply Melvins being Melvins by flipping the script and flipping the bird ... it was both hilarious and tension filled ... and also awesome

That is actually not a version of "Pure Digital Silence" as that would have to be actual digital silence and most likely have the introduction as heard on Prick.
It is also not a version of "Nothing" from the Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh! comp as that is way too short.
This was in fact the tour that they performed John Cage's "4:33" which you will also find on the Shit Sandwich 7".
