I bought the Lysol/Eggnog & Ozma/Bullhead vinyl reissues, along with the Atlantic ones, all worthwhile with already having the CDs. I don't know if I need these on vinyl. Got the CDs. I find these 3 EPs to be the most uninteresting Melvins releases. Dale's is pretty cool, best of the bunch, sort of a precursor to Altamont, Buzz's has a few catchy tunes, and Joe's is well, Joe's :?.

.....Triple gatefold ?
I'm a sucker for triple gatefold every time.
ya think Joe gets a cut?
That would be cool if it's a triple LP in one package. I'll probably get it just from being an OCD Melvins collector, barring it's not at the AmRep crazy prices.
HAZE linocut editions????? :D :D :D :D :D

Sure, why not? That's his Ep anyway.

if MELVINS own the copyrights to the songs on that album (songs?? what songs??) then I'm guessing the kindness of their heart is not going to be a factor.
now I'm curious... does anyone have their original Joe EP handy? what are the copyright listings on it?
Wouldn't copyright be irrelevant in this instance if he wrote the songs? Wouldn't they be registered under his individual publishing LLC that songwriters establish when they make records?

so do you think every time a copy of Lysol sells Joe gets a check for 18 cents? and every time a copy of Stag sells Mark gets a check for 18 cents? and so on and so forth??
I honestly don't care. strictly for conversation's sake.
I'm guessing there weren't that many contracts written in the Boner days.

That's what usually happens. A mate of a mate had a band with Jello Biafra and one of their songs got used on some Walker, Texas Ranger TV show and anytime that episode aired anywhere in the world he would get a royalty cut. After about $1000 worth Jello would then post it out to him.
best buy has dale! :o

Best buy says expect them May 23rd under the shipping portion. I see they are all backordered.
I ordered all 3. Everything on back order except dale's. My delivery date is 3/20 - 3/24 on Joe's and Buzz. Will see.
Also, I ordered the Crystal Fairy vinyl from a record shop and they called today to tell me it has been pushed back to mid March. Whats going on? I did buy it on iTunes.

This happens to pretty much every Melvins vinyl release. When vinyl dropped off in popularity 20 years ago, very few albums were produced on vinyl format. The industry reacted to the drop in demand by scrapping pressing plants, even melting down the equipment. As this wave of popularity increases from the recent vinyl comeback, the few pressing plants that remained have been struggling to meet the demand for orders.

And the add insult to injury, smaller run albums take a backseat on the pressing plants to-do list whenever something like the new Lana Del Rey needs to be pressed in insane quantities.

the Atlantic ones, the twofers, Basses Loaded etc. are all still pretty widely available from what im seeing.
Crystal Fairy is probably just running behind on reprints (if it has been released at all yet?). not sure about the solo EP's. just a small print run maybe? or maybe just waiting on another run.
sucks that i missed out on Dale for cheap. hopefully BB comes through with the other two i ordered, but im not holding my breath.
I was in Oxford Ms today and saw all 3 solo records there. My order to Best Buy on Dales was canceled and they told me there not getting it. Buzz and Joe's I should get mid march. I am hoping the ones I get from Best Buy have the posters. I can't understand the 6.99 price. They were 19.99 each in the store.
"can't understand BEST BUY's prices"
uh, ok.
I don't know if it has been discussed on here or not, but I read a great interview with Steve in the Memphis Flyer and he spoke about how Buzz and Dale talked him into doing a solo record. He said they never did a blue one ( ace ) and left that for him. Does anyone know if he is the forth one? Great interview with him.

yes buzz mentioned in an interview that there will be a forth kiss-style melvins solo record. but he did not explicitly state that it's steven.
very cool though!!
Steve EP?

I saw some sealed Melvins Kiss Solo records today, but couldn't tell if they were OG or new new reissue...Is there any way to tell?
They looked brand new sealed, so that was my first clue they'd be reissues, but for some reason they look identical to my eye to the original printed covers front and back from OG's that I've seen over the years, but I never checked closely nor do I have these.
I think Tom Flynn just keeps reordering.

Really? I could have asked him when he was on my FB but I don't have my account anymore.
I figured these were OOP since the initial release.
Any way to tell if they're OG? Like a catalog # or something?
They don't look 30 years old.
There was a Boner reissue in 2017 around the time Haze put out the bundle + Linocuts. Mackie also did some letterpress reissues.
I guess the reissue looks the same (boner classic) but has a poster and a digi download included. Did it have any kind of sticker to indicate the extra cereal box prize wins?
Did they have the lot of Buzz, Dale, and Joe? You should probably scoop em up, regardless.
You can buy these on Amazon for 19 bucks each
Check the upc placement on the back of the sleeves to determine if an original, or a reissue. Also, the original poster is full size, the reissue looks different.

They have to be reissues, there's no way they're not.
I should probably still pick them up.
I have all 3 reissues, all 4 Haze versions (2 of the Buzz ones), and I scored an original Dale last summer at a small town record store after someone had just sold off their vinyl collection

Full disclosure, I'm becoming a giant vinyl asshole who doesn't play everything that I buy. I also have all 3 original CD releases that all got uploaded to my iTunes, so I can just play them from my phone. Just for you, I will do a side by side comparison of the original Dale and the reissue. If not tonight as part of my birthday shenanigans, then definitely this weekend!

Do you notice any difference between playing things off the iphone versus a CD or LP? Like for example playing a CD in the car or on a Discman? I haven't done any research into this, but feel that iphones aren't necessarily built with audio geeks in mind.
I've always felt/heard the physical difference, playing something off a computer versus burning a CD and listening that way...I think it's something to do with the computer sound card itself.
Prefer to play music on a stereo if possible, easier said than done these days.
This computer has powered speakers with subwoofer. (Those Altec lansing ones that any gamer back in the day would have) They're antique now... 20 years old or more, they're boosted to hell, because I think the soundcards back then were so brittle sounding.
I'm not one of those people who thinks one form of media is superior to another, but there's always an audible difference from the computer when streaming music vs. physical media.
Can't quite say what it is exactly by the numbers, but physically the music reaches my ears, but not my soul when using soundcard vs. Stereo.
