Good timing.

Im guessing it will be a usual Melvins setlist from this tour?

Ah of course! You're probably right there. I did think it was odd for a show at this time of day. Well... i mean their time of day.
Check it
An electric kit!!
"who gets the most chicks?"
"Dale's the one sitting down"
Well that was a thing.
Totally missed it, what happened?
They played some songs while Adult Swims b-team said some cringey, dumb shit.
Got to hear some awful live streaming about a theory of fish jumping over coins and barrels and the "token girl of adult swim" before I found the archived stream. Band sounds alright but it's typical adult swim hipster bullshit throughout. They seemed like they were sort of having fun but I skipped through the talking and went straight for the music.

Some? The whole set up was childish and kept making me think there was no place for the "Adult" in Adult Swim. There shouldn't have been any talk or fooling around - just the band playing.

Yes, that was it exactly. Absolutely dire.
One thing that did make me laugh though was after numerous idiotic, nonsensical callers when one normal guy was talking and Dale said "this guy sounds a bit more cohesive". Im pretty sure he meant "coherent".
You're a braver man than I, Ian. No way I'm gonna listen to people talk while a band just stands there awkwardly.

It's probably closer to being foolish than brave. I watched it live and so had to endure the lot whatever went down. More than a few times i thought about giving up! Anyone who hasn't seen this yet should simply just watch the first three songs they perform right at the beginning and then leave it there.
I will say something about this show, it did offer up one gem - the bands cover of 'Hey Hey We're The Monkies' altered to "junkies". That was pretty funny and made me think i'd like to see them put that on a record. A bit like how Dale goofs around on Bride Screamed Murder at the end of one of the songs playing a tongue in cheek version of 'My Sharona'. I'd love to see them do a similar thing with their '...Junkies' version.

Except for the KEXP studio series on YouTube. Buzz did one of those, wish the band would too.

Yes!! Those are an example of this sort of thing done right. I love the KEXP series sessions that bands have done. Melvins make it happen.

i hate it when bands change 'monkeys' to 'junkies', or 'lysol' to 'Lyson'.

I applaud the effort, but i think that is two very distinctly different things there.
That was pretty awesome :D
Like with Jam In The Van, I loved hearing the band with an unusual audio setup, very refreshing. Dale playing an electronic drum kit was a first - very intriguing. I wish Buzzo would switch his "biscuit tin" guitar for something different too... but that's a wish I'm holding on ever since after Tres Cabrones. Still, they sounded quite unusual.
I Want To Hold Your Hand sounded epsecially amazing. Very melodic. I think that's the best sounding perfomance of it I've heard. Oven sounded sweet too.
Loved the funny little improvs, too, especially the Junkies and "You're Getting Calmer", although I thought they'd play Goose Freight Train at that moment
The hosts talking was pretty awkward, yeah. Although Melvins made some of it funnier.
Melvins answering the phone calls never gets old. I loved it on the Neil Hamburger program and I loved it here.
Oh and the psychedelic visuals were great.
So overall, I'm glad they did this. This video is a keeper :)
Oh, and here are the timecodes for the songs :D
02:10 Anaconda
04:54 Queen
07:22 The Kicking Machine
24:39 "You're Getting Calmer" (improv)
29:43 Saviour Machine (David Bowie)
32:22 Scooba
48:15 I Want To Hold Your Hand (The Beatles)
51:23 The Monkees Theme
54:18 "We Finished The Puzzle!" (improv)
56:04 Star Spangled Banner
57:32 Oven

I enjoyed it as well. Cool to see Dale on an electric kit
Anyone able to put this up/find the performance outside of the Adultswim site?
Adult Swim's site is rubbish for Australia. :(
Watching this makes me really wish that there was a more visual element to Melvins concerts. I would love it if their shows had fog, killer lighting and LAZERZ. Or if they played on a stage that looked like a Caroliner Rainbow stage.

You mind sharing this on that other place too?
Kind of surprised that the Melvins have never taken part in the Adult Swim music stuff, like their singles series or one of their comps like Metal Swim; they'd fit right in considering those have been the outlet for material by bands with a lot of fanbase overlap with our boys, like Mastodon, Boris, Jesu, High on Fire, Isis, Kylesa and so on. Then again, Buzz also doesn't seem too keen on releasing new music for free on the internet, if his comments about the Bulls and the Bees are anything to go by.

It still baffles me a little why the band ever released that with Scion AV. Im guessing they approached the band rather than the other way around. But it was a surprise since they have a good thing going it seems with Ipecac. Although of course it did get the full "proper" label treatment eventually.

Scion AV was trying to do this whole EPs/concert/festival series where they were seeking out and associating themselves with 'hip' bands like the Melvins, Corrosion of Conformity, Pig Destroyer, Meshuggah, and some others I'm forgetting, to try and appeal to that niche audience who I'm sure doesn't usually give a rat's ass about Toyota. COC did a free EP with them too that was pretty awesome.
