My first time seeing Melvins live. And what a mind blowing experience it was. I mean, there can't be anything like standing right next to Buzz's rig when he's got the whole thing on 11 bashing out legendary riff after legendary riff. It seemed to me they were playing harder and louder towards the end of the set, like a gradually intensifying mudslide. I took off my earplugs for the last 10 minutes and just drowned in the insane groove. The whole set was a highlight but Oven, Onions Makes The Milk Taste Bad & The Bit were extra special for me. Loved to see the sweat running down Buzz's guitar from what couldn't have been more than 5 inches at times. Loved to witness the mad art of Dale Crover on drums. Loved to see the show that Steve was putting up on his side of the stage. Here's a couple of clips I filmed with my phone:

Awesome, thanks!
+1!
PS: is that a giant LEGO head on the stage?
Heh, yeah I don't know what the skull was, Lego or not, but Dale kinda abused it at the end, throwing drum sticks and water bottles at it
Vivid and interesting review, not often one bothers to read through all, but this was good!
an excellent recording of this show is available on dime and the traders den.
Whoa, thanks! I'm grabbing that asap, great thing to have to boost an already great memory.
