Once upon a time there was a free music magazine (newspaper) called The Rocket. It was based out of Seattle, was printed every two weeks and focused on the Northwest Music Scene (Primarily Seattle, Tacoma, Bellingham, Olympia but would also cover Portland and Vancouver BC). The contents included music scene news, artist/band interviews/features, columns (such as the Sub Pop column), letters to the editor, comics (including "Life In Hell" by Matt Groening of Simpsons fame), concert and venue calendars, musician want ads and tons of advertisements (Concert ads, Venue ads, Guitar Shops, Record Stores, Recording Studios and much more!)

Within it's covers you can trace the Melvins history of concerts in the area, news, show reviews, interviews, record reviews. You do the same for the entire Seattle/Pac NW Music Scene of the time (Soundgarden, Green River, U-Men, Nirvana, TAD, Screaming Trees, Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, The Accused etc. etc.)
