but just out of curiousity, did their paths actually cross on tour? Never seen an interview or photo where Buzz talks about Dime. I've read interviews where Phil talks about how he used to play the Ozma tape on Pantera's tourbus back in the day though

I think the "he" Buzz may have been referring to was himself. It seems plausible that Buzz loves Cacti. Who doesn't. Oh wait, is that a signature Dime V? Is that such a thing? Regardless I bet ya Buzz loves cacti. Seems plausible Buzz also likes Cactus. It also seems plausible Dimebag loved Cactus. Maybe cacti as well. Probably.

Dime was a huge Melvins fan, as it was one of his influences in moving the band in a heavier and more experimental direction.

ANSELMO I turned the band on to the Melvins second record Ozma and I didn't expect them to like it much because it was very obscure and strange sounding. But right away Vinnie Paul spoke up and said, "Man, that's a pretty awesome drum sound." Not that "25 Years" is stylistically close to the Melvins, but it was kind of Pantera's take on what the Melvins were doing at the time. That was the magic of Pantera: We could digest different elements of heavy metal and aggressive music, and when we would regurgitate it back up, it would come out as something fresh.
