First show for 2025 has been announced. Festival in Bristol, UK in august. Pretty cool lineup, but not really into outdoor festivals myself. I guess this means a UK/euro tour in august. Hope it's with Dale and Coady.

who wants to send me to the UK for my birthday (night one)? now now... don't fight over me. there are plenty of expenses to go around. flights, lodging, concert tickets, booze, fish and chips, etc.
I can make a sign up sheet if that works for everyone.

I do feel sorry for you guys and fans in general who live elsewhere in the world. It seems every year it is America and Europe and that's it. Then every 5 years or so a trip down to Australia and New Zealand.

slim indeed. it reminds me of that old post of his.
"Why, couches are not to be crashed on, they should be sat on instead. I never understood why people choose to sleep on crouches, quite often unannounced too! I find it much more comfortable to sleep in a bed instead, preferably my own bed. I have also found that sleeping on couches goes along with sleeping in clothes, instead of pyjamas which I find highly unsanitary, you basically sleep in your own sweat on a strange couch, where numerous unknown bums have sat on (and who knows what else!)."

Hey! I've slept on a couch (or settee as we over here like to call them). I've done it a few times actually when i was a student. 6 years ago i stayed over at some friends who have 2 kids. I said i'd sleep on the "couch" and didn't want to create a fuss. Yet they absolutely wouldn't have it. It didn't bother me, i mean it was only for one night but no. Instead they made their 11 year old daughter move out of her bed and made me use it. Which felt quite creepy in a way. I didn't really feel comfortable about that at all. But i would have been happy enough wherever. I've slept on a floor once. A solid floor with nothing underneath. Now THAT was bad. Anything, literally anything slightly padded is better than the floor.

A little bit different as an adult but I remember sleeping over a friends place when I was about 16 and his mum told me to sleep in his 12 yo sister's bed who was staying over a friend's place herself. It was a very uncomfortable sleep with teddy bears and pink everything everywhere, I felt like a creep lol

'Somebody tell this band what year it is...I mean I haven't heard a note from you guys, and I don't like anything about you..'
I have no clue why, but I'm more than half tempted to get VIP passes. Most of the bands I would want to see I've already seen but it's been over 10 years since I've seen Mastodon, 20 years since I last saw Tomahawk, almost 30 for Quicksand. Never had a bad time with Napalm, Carcass or Cannibal. The only time I saw Metallica was Lollapalooza 96 and it was pretty unremarkable. My first band was supposed to open for Acid Bath but Audie died like a month or so before that tour. Would be a fun way to put another notch on the Melvins list of shows. Just weird that there are so many bands in one day.

I'm pretty sure the two previous ones have had more bands so there might still be more to come. Mr Bungle and Melvins both played it in 2023 when they were doing the Ipecac Geek Show tour.

Also playing Belgium, i think
Sex Pistols?
Someone kindly fill me in on how that's a thing without Johnny Rotten?
Is that like the Dead Kennedy's and Jello?
Cashing in without the bandmates you never want to talk to ever again....Just change the band names if you're not just in it for the moolah.
Yeah, they have Frank Turner filling in the vocalist spot. I think it's more authentic than DK without Jello was. The way I see it with Johnny is he originated role but it's not his play.
Also, should add it's probably a better idea to go on A Euro Tour than come to Canada these days.
Canada does not rock.
Hope it's a fun tour.
i saw DK sans Jello and it was........................sad
As with the start of every new tour i always look forward to seeing what the setlist will be. Do you guys think they will keep the exact same set from this Spring Break tour for the Napalm tour a month later?
who knows, maybe the set list for the tour with ND could be a bit shorter. I expect lots of stuff from the BB era being played
Yeah, I don't expect any surprises. A Senile Animal, Houdini, Lysol, Nude with Boots, Egg Nog, Bullhead, Bulls and Bees, Bride Screamed Murder, and maybe one song from this past decade.

hard for me to complain about any setlist with The Bloated Pope. but yeah a litttttle more variety would be nice

Working the ditch
Bloated pope
Never say sorry
Evil new war god

Billy fish
History bad men
Blood witch
Hag me
Honey bucket
Revolve

Night goat

What's an "exclusive artist pre-sale"
Artist presale just means the ticket page is password protected. For Melvins they'll probably just blast a single password out to all their socials.
For lots of other artists they have active paid fan clubs and the band would issue codes to each individual.
Buffalo finally gets a headlining date after 9 long yrs and it's at THE WORST FUCKING VENUE IN TOWN. :x
Fuck Electric City. I don't like having to support that place. The location is the old Tralf Cafe(next door to Shea's). Some conglomerate group/owner(s) came in from Los Angeles and bought/leased the place after Tralf closed in '21.
In the last year and a half they've been outbidding all the great truly local venues like Town Ballroom, Rec Room, Asbury Hall, and Iron Works and literally stealing shows that would be at those places. There was never a House Of Blues in Buffalo, but Electric City is basically like a HOB swooping in.
Besides all of that, the other thing that pisses me off about the place is that they're a post-pandemic "cashless" venue. Fine, whatever. I'll go to the show if it's not sold out, pay for admission by CC at the door, and just boycott the bar.
Got my tickets for Space Ballroom in CT! Nice small venue with excellent tap beers. I've never not been on the edge of the stage there.
What other band can you see live twice a year, every year? More if you're willing to travel.

Fuck Electric City. I don't like having to support that place. The location is the old Tralf Cafe(next door to Shea's). Some conglomerate group/owner(s) came in from Los Angeles and bought/leased the place after Tralf closed in '21.

Ah shit, I was wondering about this place. Now I guess I know why it's not at Town Ballroom. Grabbed tix today regardless. $10 service charge.
hey y'all, miss you so much
posting on this thread (and others) because i have two (2) tickets to give away to the concert June 1st at the knit in Spokane! unfortunately a death in the family has put a funeral right where my birthday party was supposed to go, so i want to pay it forward at least. i also was hoping to finally see the 1-2 punch of dale and coady slamming together but i guess i'll have to wait until... heaven maybe, at this point (or hell). i will also check the site... infrequently.
love, the moldiest teenage melvins fan,
Lucas
Can't wait for Tulsa!
See all of you Portland folks tonight :buzz:
no Michigan stops on this "wining!" or "whinning!" or whatever it is tour.
I'll be totally ok with that every single night during the Red Kross set.
shit talkin! :P
Portland was great but for my date getting sick right when we got down there. So I drove her back home, swapped her out for her husband, and headed back. What I DIDN'T know is apparently Shane from ND had to take a MH break from the tour and was back in Britainshire, so no Dark Sky Burial. I figure with doors at 6 and show at 7, they wouldn't get on till 8 or so with Dark Sky and Hard Ons going first. Alas I get in the showroom at 8:09 just as ENWG ends, so I missed at least a third of the 50 minute set. Of course what I heard was fanstastic and Im pissed I missed Ditch, Pope and Never :( They were on fire and the double drums were so good after a 10 year absence.
It was crazy early...and yeah with one opener not playing...
Glad you caught most of it, at least.
Jerry A and the Hard Ons put on a solid set (the bass player was nuts), and they we're extremely happy to have a local/excited crowd.
Sucks we don't get the Redd Kross tour, as Glen so tactfully mentioned, but you win some you lose some!

..and winning or losing is ultimately in the eye of the beholder. :)

Aww, damn! In my rush to get down to Portland, there's too many people that I didn't reach out to. Been way too long! Would have been nice to bump into you.
I got there at what I thought was an early enough time. Immediately went inside and nothing was going on, so my friend and I went to the downstairs bar and took a couple beers outside. After about 10 minutes I hear one of the security guys at the door say that the Melvins are just about to start. Ran inside and managed to get some good standing room space near the stage. Bummed that we missed the hard on's, although I got to see them in Spokane on Sunday.
After the show, we walked down to the Firkin Tavern but the stand up comedy was pretty painful, so we Uber'd back to my friend's place in Gladstone
Giveme45, how was the Spokane show? Can someone share the Melvin's set list again? I couldn't find it on the forum

Indeed, it's been way too long...damn Covid years. Hope life's been treating you well (along with everyone else round these parts)!
Need to pop in a bit more often to shoot the shit...

It was good. I grew up there but left for Portland in February 2000. So the last 3 shows at the Knitting Factory, I have run into old friends. This time I reconnected with an old friend who was in a band that my old band played with a bunch in the late 90s. It was fun but he ended up drinking a bit too much and ghosted me half way through Napalm's set. As I mentioned in the other thread about this tour, when I noticed Shane was absent from Napalm, my mood took an unexpected dive. So while the Portland show was pretty much the same thing, for some reason I had a much more enjoyable time.
I missed the Spokane show, but after checking the setlist, I guess I'm not that bummed. At this stage in their career why not work in songs for the hardcore fans? Play some deep cuts. I'm glad they've added the Bloated Pope, but they have HUNDREDS of other songs to choose from. I NEED to hear Venus Blood live. It would kill with 2 drummers.
First night of the Stop Your Whining tour tonight in Bristol! From the clips i've seen, it seems like the exact same setlist as the Savage Imperial tour earlier this year. Are any of you surprised??

not surprised, i'm considering missing the Milan show in two weeks. Melvins are great but i know setlist( saw tons of videos) and on a Thursday is a bit hard with my job
Apparently they have added Hog Leg tho! I didn't see that coming if indeed it's correct.
Working The Ditch
The Bloated Pope
Never Say You're Sorry
Evil New War God
It's Shoved
Billy Fish
A History Of Bad Men
Blood Witch
Hag Me
Hog Leg
Honey Bucket

Night Goat
wow, that's great!

I wonder if Coady is handling lead vocals again.

I would imagine so. I might be wrong but i think every gig he's played both him and Dale have always had their little wearable head mics. For drummers i can imagine them things being a total pain in the ass. Drumming and singing must be hard - especially over heavy hitting drum sections. It would affect your vocals big time.
mmh I don't think Coady used to sing that song
Is there a reason why they stopped touring in Canada? Last time was 2018 and this is the longest stretch in their history of touring.

damn. that sucks. Buzz was saying in Interviews around that time that the US and Canada were the two most paranoid countries on the planet and that it was nothing but a total nightmare crossing that order twice on tour. they even stopped bringing merch with them. easier to leave it behind if i recall. i can't imagine any of this changing anytime soon either. :?
Cologne setlist. Fantastic show. Redd Kross were excellent too. Perfect night.
