The former drummer of Mule is in construction now. And supposedly doesn't own drums anymore.
Quote from: cooterdid you make that? it would be a cool bumper-sticker!
Yes I designed them for Matt, he had about 500
of them printed up after he left Mule. Feel free
to print it out and put it on your bumper.

it says this in the bassists morgue also.
on www.themelvins.net
THAT SHITS FUNNY
All of Mudhoney has day jobs now.
ya, but matt lukin is the only one with a cool
bumper sticker! and he was in the melvs too
so cool! and its funny how joe preston admired
lukin soooo much in the beginning...then replaced him!
joe even had a fanzine about matt!! twisted! now i see
where that menacing insane quality on the Thrones CDs
truly comes from! hahaha (http://lazerman.bytehost.net/toke.gif)
cool stuff!
Do you think he did his best stuff with Mudhoney or the Melvins??
Even though he was awesome with Buzz and Dale, his greatest playing, i think, was with Mudhoney.
Mudhoney, yeah.
Lukin was, and always it will be my favor bass player !! :D
definitely mudhoney...

Quote from: brianhe's now a born again christian
Man I hate when that happens to people. Ron Reyes ( Chavo ) from Black Flag is reportedly also a Jesus Crispie. I just found out this year my old pal Corey went crazy for Christ too.....and to think of the amount of booze, drugs and debauchery I got in to w/ him makes my head spin.
thats whack! no offense but thats the third dumbest thing
he's done, first two being quitting the melvins, and 2nd
for quiting the 'honey. Damn but he is so talented though!
Is he, really? I mean, sure the man was in two awesome bands but how much of those bands were his creation? Buzz seems adamant to rubbish him and Mudhoney was essentially Mark Arm and Steve Turner's vision of Green River...
I think that Matt was an integral part to the Mudhoney sound. In the notes for the March to Fuzz CD retrospective Steve Turner says that although Matt never forthcoming with ideas at practice, "In n Out of Grace" was one of his creations; one of the quintessential songs in the Mudhoney canon.
Although not an amazing, technically proficient bassist, Lukin held his own in both bands. Jim Dickinson said he was surprised at how steady Lukin's playing was when Mudhoney recorded their best album Tomorrow Hit Today, a record that was unjustly overlooked by the world at large. Jim Dickinson's word is not to be dismissed. Mudhoney turned to garbage once Lukin quit and they picked up Guy. I was so disappointed by the sets I saw them play on the 20th Anniversary tour.
And as for Lukin quitting the Melvins, that is just not the case. Buzz moved away to shack up with Lorax, effectively telling Lukin that the Melvins were no more. Of course Dale followed to San Francisco and he and Buzz continued playing together. I think Matt really loved playing in the Melvins and was disappointed to find out that he had been ditched.
I respect Matt Lukin for his contributions and tenure in two really great bands but as for that born again Christian shit, that is completely unforgivable.
you know he voted for bush!!!

Oh hell no. Mudhoney is still rocking strong, and Since We've Become Translucent was spectacular.
I spoke to Guy briefly after their set at the 20th show in Olympia, WA. He was a right nice fellow and I thought they played well that night. It goes without saying that the Melvins blew them right off the stage. It was their night for sure.
These guys still Rock! Honestly, not every night though.
I've seen half a dozen mudhoney shows in the past 4 years. And they can still reach that magic place. Steve Turner is a Great Guitar player, and he can crank out grunge and sludge with the best of em.
Mark Arm is the weak link, no offensense Mark! Those guys have day jobs, they're not really on a mission anymore, i don't think.
But if you can catch them on a night when they've been rehearsing or playing for a while, well..., you see mudhoney only Shines when mark plays a Strong Second Guitar for Steve, mark can do it, he can really do it well, but not all the time.
i thought the mudhoney sets in Seattle and olympia on the 20th tour were Excellent, with the oly show being the standout.
I saw Mudhoney on the Tomorrow Hit Today tour in a small club and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. They fucking rocked. I was mesmerized. I had no clue that they kicked so much fucking ass. All night, this guy in the crowd kept yelling out "Mommy, mommy, mommy." Like after every song. The guys just kept laughing, and then to close the show, what do you they play?? You guessed it 'Hate The Police.' The crowd went wild. It was awesome. Gotta love that band
That's kinda what i wasa trying to say. Mudhoney is For Real.
This is all conjecture whether Mudhoney still rock or not (and this discussion really should be in the general discussion forum) but I saw them 4 or 5 times with Matt Lukin (including the awesome Tomorrow Hit Today tour) and when I compare those to the three shows I saw them play on the 20th Anniversary tour, the latter shows were inferior. They seemed to be a little bored and going through the motions, especially Mark. I was disappointed when he came out and sang "Sacrifice" with the Melvins, holding a lyric sheet and just not really giving it his all. I am not trying to talk shit, I am just reporting my reactions. I agree, their best set of that tour was Olympia but they were still not rocking like the Mudhoney of old.
Mark was and Stever were in Green River and I think those were their days. But now these guys are aging hippys. I mean don't get me wrong, they still rock, but it's just not like they used to.
Aging hippys is sure one thing you can't call the Melvins. You can debate all you want about liking or disliking Pigs and the Biafra release. The fact is, they are still unafraid of going in new and unconventional directions. As far as I'm concerned they are on top of their game now more than ever. Hopefully Kevin will recover from his ills and get back with it. I do like Pigs and Breathe, but looking foreward to the next (non-collaboration) release. You never know where the Melvins will take us next.
i saw mudhoney a couple of times back in thedaze - the lukin Era - and he Brought a dumptruck full of energy and Drive to those shows. The Wild Frizzy hair - he was a wild man - a demon?
