does anyone have this, and if so, would you be able to upload it here? I know its probably very easy to get it on one of those file-sharing programs but i dont mess around with that stuff anymore because my computer always ends up getting infected sooner or later. Pretty please??
I could E mail it to you. PM me your address and I'll do just that.
This one?

It is better. I prefer it.
I have the signed CD single.
i have it but i'm clueless about the computer stuff.you need to hear it over proper speakers cause this has the heaviest bass intro.
Joe wrote the basic Night Goat riff, although Buzz will never admit it

Where did you hear that Conda? I mean I've heard it before but no-one knows for definite. But you're right, Buzz would never admit.
I've had some contact with Joe in the past and he said that they
still owe him money for alot of his compositions, the main one he
mentioned was Night Goat. My hand to God.
Joe Preston is a dirty hippy. He stinks and lies alot.

It's all good man I believe you. What were the other compositions that he mentioned? I thought I had Joe's email address but I'm doubtful it's real as he said High On Fire's new album was gonna be a more doom and droney, which it wasn't.

He seemed really cool and down to earth when I talked to him this year. Not a trace of any kind of star atttiude at all.
Yeah i talked to him at the high on fire show and he seemed shy.
the other one specifically was 'parts' of With Teeth.

With Teeth and Night Goat are in my top 10 Melvins songs, maybe this is why I love Thrones so much?
what else did he do? Did he have anything to do with honey bucket? It seems like he's mostly confined to lysol.

:D
That's a link, by the way.
Hey man any more melvins tracks on that site?I tried to go to the normal site and it was mudhoney.
Ahhhh this version is very cool, and this must be why I like this song the best and why I love the thrones so much
The "Joe" single version is also on the "Neither Here Nor There" CD that comes with the book.

I don't know which Night Goat I like more. I love 'em BOTH!
Maybe he wrote Black Stooges too

i thought reverend ebeneezer spoke to joe about that when he was in london with high on fire and joe said that he didn't write the night goat riff

It was Peterborough, but yeah, that's right. Joe didn't write any riffs for the Melvins while he was in the band, apparently...
he should have :) the riffs in hands first flower are awesome

I've come to realize that I was being fed bullshit by a fake Joe from the HOF forums. He was using the email: preston_thrones@yahoo.com
The one I spoke to used this address Joe_Preston@yahoo.com Bastard!
I'm pretty sure those are not real Joe Preston e-mail addresses.
I toured with Joe for a month and he's one of the nicest people you could meet, anyone who talks shit about him is probably an asshole.

Is there any chance you'd make that link active again?
hey zoomer! havent seen you around in a while holmes..sup amigo
Yeah, I've been real busy at work lately and haven't been able to get on the computer as often as usual; I've still been able to make time to go out to see bands when they're in town, though. Went to see Fantomas last month, as well as Pelican, & going to check out Unsane this Sunday.
It's good to hear your voice(?read your text?) , how've you been?
i've had email correspondance with the real joe. i know this for sure because he sent me thrones demos for a future unreleased album. (this was a while ago). he asked me nicely not to share them.
unless someone had gotten them leaked very far in advance and lied to me, then i am pretty sure it was him. i think he reads this board. or did.
I believe Conda' was sent some 'unreleased' tracks by the fake Joe Preston, so don't be too sure.
I used to mail a bit with Joe like 4 years ago but at that time he used a hotmail account. He told me about some of his former bands (Snakepit and Mos Isley) and some other stuff. He also used to answer questions on the Kill Rock Stars board. He hasn't answered any of my mails recently, though.
Btw. I got the e-mail address confirmed by Stehpen O'Malley so it should be OK.
i'm curious about this different version of night goat. the one on houdini is so awesome it's hard to imagine the other one would be better. the beginning of it is actually so sludgy and gross-sounding that it turned me off from listening beyond the intro for a long time, but especially when the drums kick in the rest of the song is wonderful. interesting song because the riff sort of drives the song as opposed to being the song. but i'd really like to hear that other version.
Dale rules, he locks in and rides shit damn tight - though restrained as needed but all ways, still imaginative.
Can anyone post it again, the link is now broken and i can't download it thanks a bunch!

I uploaded again. They don't like mp3s there, so grab them while you can.
