Title: Can you Recommend Some Noisy Music?
Post by: KURDTLUVUR! on December 09, 2005, 02:29:22 PM
I'm in the mood for something akin to Collosus of Destiny, Boris Archive I disc, ... something noisy with an occasional groove or hook.  Any ideas?

Thanks babycakes! :P

Any of the SYR 1-6 releases (Sonic Youth Records). They are usually about 3 or 4 songs of instrumentation - feedback, intermingled with jangly or overdriven guitars and great drums. You can find em pretty cheap too.

Try Merzbow. What a joke. How can this guy be taken seriously?

You could try Maldoror. It is a Mike Patton/Merzbow collaboration. It is in the same basic vein as COD.
Or try Dissecting Table.

Thanks all for the great suggestions-  slowly I'll check out each recommendation.  I listened to one track by
Sir Dave; it sounded like a space ship idling in the front yard - lots of moog madness.
:D

Oops, you already mentioned 'em. I found out after I wondered why no one had mentioned Lightning Bolt yet, but you had. Their new record is awesome, isn't it?

Speaking of Naked City, are there any live bootlegs of the shows Kevin Sharp did with 'em?

Very cool.  Hopefully you guys will tour the U.S. sometime; can't wait until your label gets it's website up.

oh yes, the new lightning bolt album is great, it beats out wonderful rainbow, even though on that album they have 'assassins' on it.  Did you know the song Dead Cowboy is about President Bush?  haha...the lyrics are so funny to it.  I don't know if anyone has recommended these bands yet, but orthrelm is a good noise band, the boredoms, usaisamonster, pink and brown, white mice, mindflayer, crom-tech, ruins and the flying luttenbachers are all good noise bands.  some are more noisy than others.
