I'm going to like six of those Southeast dates. I shit a brick once I saw they're playing NORTH CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA!!! BWAHAHAHHA. I live there... if you guys only knew.
But yeah, Ministry and Melvins are definitely the two loudest bands I've seen live. And I really do need to start wearing earplugs to shows. Safety FIRST!

I went to see Ministry once, but after waiting an hour and a half after the shitty opening band played the manager came out and said al was too sick to play, but in reality he had done too much coke and was losing it in the back.
I would think that someone like Merzbow would definitely be louder than the Melvins.
Why the sudden "soundgarden sucks" thing? both bands are great, period.

Or Sunn 0))).
I listened to Badmotorfinger the other day for the first time in a long while. I'd forgotten how good that album is. I hated it when it first came out, though.

There's nothing "suddden" about that shirt: it was made in '89 or '90, just after Louder Than Love.

Oh definitely, Badmotorfinger is by far Soundgarden's best album.

Which album of theirs do you like the best? Louder than Love?Ya know what? I never liked Soundgarden until Badmotorfinger. I never liked Louder than Love, I never liked any of their past shit. In my eyes, the best record they ever made, the past two have been great, but I think Badmotorofinger is the one that really caught my ear. I was in Foundations Forum, how lame is that -- some schmooze fest for Kyuss, and Badmotorfinger came on 95.5 KLOS and I was blown away. Rusty Cage came on and I was blown away. I like those guys alot. I'm very proud to say, very proud to say that our last tour as Kyuss was with Soundgarden, over in Europe. And to me that was the best, finally we get to open up for a band that's cool. We've opened up for other bands that are cool but that was fucking awesome. I have to say thank you to Glen Danzig for taking 4 guys from nowhere on tour and having us open up for him because he dug the music.
i saw soundgarden sometime after badmotorfinger when they were touring with guns and roses(yeah yeah it was around christmas and gnr cut ticket prices in half). i really do like soundgarden but god they fucking suck dirty balls live. cornell was ALL over the place with his vocals. a damn shame.
from what i've seen, lightning bolt was 10 times louder and energized then the melvins show i saw back in 2004.
let's not confuse loud with being good, though.
not to say lightning bolt wasn't great, because they certainly were, one of the best shows i've been to.
my best star struck "i can't believe i'm here" shows was the melvins.

It may have just been a bad night. I saw them touring Badmotorfinger and they were awesome. And they were very very loud.
Check out the second disc on the SOMMS cd set- you can hear Chris' vocals cracking on the intro to the live song.
I used to drive my flat mates crazy by playing this continuously and obsessively when this came out.
Loudest band I ever heard (twice) was My Bloody Valentine. And of top of that they had this stroboscope light flashing for like 10 minutes. There was a girl right in front of me that fainted and had to be carried out.
