there's even more to it! i have to say the squid and skulls game is great,
the sounds theyve recorded for that one are truly great, you get a new one for each
skull you explode with your cursor.

I also have a theory about COD now based on the buzz box game. Those sounds on the
buzz box sound suspiciously like alot of the stuff from COD!! the delayed garbage can drums,
the guitar sound and the other sound from buzz's head, they all sound like COD,
I think that COD was recorded using the DOD Buzz Box for the drums, bass, and the guitar!!

For some reason I associated Hash with opium based narcotics.. very strange.
Title: Re: melvins.com weirdness
Post by: irezumi on February 28, 2006, 01:04:42 AM
Hash is just another form of THC, just more potent. It's made from dried & pressed weed leaves, usually mixed w/ a (non-opiate)resin.
It could be described by some users to be a opiate-like high I guess, mostly 'cause it's more potent than weed usually is.
Title: Re: melvins.com weirdness
Post by: norecess on February 28, 2006, 05:47:15 AM
I prefer hash for several reasons. First of all, weed got me really paranoid fr a while one or two years ago, it drove me crazy. That's when I quit smoking weed for a while and eventually I started again with hash. Maybe it's just mental, but hash gives me a way more relaxed feeling. Weed gets you stoned, hash doesn't really, high would be a better word.

Also, the smell is just so much way better, some hash flavours are just delicious. With good hash, I can even enjoy it when a friend of mine is smoking it. If they would make candy of certain flavours, I'm posiitve it would become a world wide success.

On the other hand, usually weed is usually easier to roll, especially when it's dry and easy to crumble. Hash take a little longer, but that also depends on what hash you got. I prefer polm from Morocco, which is really different than hash from Afghanistan for example. I like my hash soft and flavoured, the strength doesn't really matter to me since it's gonna make me high eventually anyway. When I'm at home and smoke hash, I want to feel relaxed and listen some music, not stoned.

Also, I once mentioned ice-o-lator here, here in Holland you can also buy ice-hash, which is hash with a thc level of about 50 to 60 percent. And in case you were wondering, hash and weed are both the same price.

Here is a picture of caramello, excellent hash with a delicious flavour.

the only hash that makes it into canada and the states now is that black hash from turkey,
thats been pressed and re-pressed so many times that there's no hash actually left in it
by the time it crosses the border. the last good hash i had was some red lebanese,
and this way back in the mid 90s!!!

Oh boy I had that too a couple of years ago, did it taste spicey? It was called Red Rock here but it could be the same hash. I don't smoke any black hash, it's so soft you can't even crumble it so you have to roll it the size of a joint to be able to make a proper joint. And when the sun is out, it melts and becomes filthy and all. Also, I just don't like the taste that much.

It was very spicy, and all it took to get a nice buzz was a couple hot knives.  Ahhh sweet memories....

hey maarty, theres hash to be got around here, I'm sure.  but in my advanced years I try to stay away from the kind of people who could get me some.  just not the crowd you want to run with when you want to avoid legal issues.  green can be obtained relativley simply by decent folks.  but trying to explain to my wife that I was arrested on the "bad" side of town in a drug raid and she needs to come bail me out of jail just doesn't appeal to me.

I hear you, Glen. Just get your ass over here soon and I'll let you smoke along. If you leave right now, you might me able to catch Earth and Sunn with me this Friday. Ooff, imagine how much hash I will need that night. Hmm, nothing actually, Earth alone will probably get me stoned enough.

ever made bubble(water) hash?  That is the way to go.  Basically you take frozen bud submerged in ice water, and break the trichomes(sp?) off though agitation, and trap them in a series of screened bags.  Also a buddy of mine has this pollen roller which is real nice.  He had it shipped from somewhere in Holland I believe, but you could make one.  Its basically a cylinder made of a fine screen that rotates witha motor, and basically tumbles the pollen off the buds and it falls to a tray below.  Then you press that into very nice hash.  Bubble hash is the best but its kind of a pain in the ass...
